I can’t find these new anywhere, anyone have one sitting around they’d like to sell?

The 6u Bento Box is a travel case for two 84hp tip top happy ending kits. Here’s a defunct listing on Reverb.com, https://reverb.com/item/1669654-black-market-6u-bento-box-for-happy-ending-kit-eurorack-new-perfect-circuit

If you’ve got one collecting dust and you’d rather have cold hard paypal cash for it, let me know! I’m US based. Given the size of it, I don’t think international shipping is worth the effort.

Thanks!

Here’s a picture of the kind of Bento Box I’m not looking for but I would thrilled if I had someday,

PS. Feel free to suggest alternatives for 6u 84 hp (or higher) travel cases in the $200 or less range. I don’t need power, will continue to use my row power 40. I’ve looked for a while and am coming up short. I already have two HEK’s, so a Bento Box would be great.

PPS. “Travel” for me is putting the case in the car in a convenient way. I don’t anticipate taking this on an airplane, so no need to go completely overboard on protection. I like the idea of a closing lid, but it’s probably less necessary than I think.

For slightly less money and with the same basic “features” there’s the equivalent case by Moog Audio here in Canada (keep in mind website is in Canadian $) :

But like the Bento Box you’ll need to add rails and power.

If you want something with rails and power already installed there are lots of good options that would be similar in price to the whole configuration with the Moog case.

One is the Tip Top Mantis + travel bag. This is an amazing value.

And then there’s the good old Doepfer 6U with a lid:

The Mantis is by far the least expensive overall and if you don’t need the total protection of a flight case the soft bag is perfectly fine … Once you add 6U of Happy Endings kits or equivalent to the empty cases it starts to get into Doepfer territory anyway…

The new breed of boutique cases are fantastic, but generally more expensive than these options.

So confused. This isn’t Moog moog? How is this legal? Shouldn’t the UN get in there and shut them down for international trademark something something?

That’s a good option. Will investigate further.

Mantis is a good option too. I have some trilogy modules though so 5v is a thing for me. Mantis power supply won’t cut it. Other option is a unpowered skiff, but I’ll need to refine my setup a bit. Which probably makes more sense.

Moog audio. Innnnteresting. I might need to buy from them just on the weird factor alone.

Hah. Yes, it is strange. They’ve been around for quite a while in Canada… and maybe because it’s a retail business and Moog Music isn’t in the retail space? They actually sell Mood Music products at Moog Audio

It’s a good shop though, I deal with them all the time since they’re the best local store.

The Mantis power looks like it does 300mA of 5v. That’s lots of the modules I believe, but maybe not enough to power the grid/arc? I can’t remember the specs of hand… You could also get the external 5v supply for the grid.

My favourite case builder is Art for the Ears (also local). His power supplies are great, as are his cases. But it’s a lot more expensive than the other options in this thread.

I’ve always gone cheap on my case. Started with a HEK, then rack mounted it in an IKEA Rast then expanded with a second set of ears and rails. I bought a new power supply when I got the trilogy modules (they need up to 600 mA of 5v when the grid is plugged in). Have lugged the Rast to a few events. It’s awkward. Figured the Bento box was a good way to get some portability out of the setup I already had. The Moog case would do that too, as long as I don’t run into imperial entanglements at the border. I have a fear of things getting stuck in customs.

All this is to say, I probably shouldn’t have gone cheap on my case when I got started on this Eurorack path. Lesson learned! :relieved:

Changing the title, no longer WTB. Decided to refine the setup a bit and consolidate to a skiff. Thanks!
