Often plugging the audio outs of two devices into the same mixer is enough to create a common 0V connection between them, that was the case with the repeater electronics horndog I used to have.

yes, that seems to be sufficiant

The more I think about this, the more I want it, so I’ve just put my name on the pre-order list. “Spring 2019”, in Russia.

Pulsar is getting lots of attention.

Preorder list is well over 700 even before Superbooth and latest demos.

I’m one of the 700. Fingers crossed.

I’ve tried a lot of drum machines over the years and none really connected for me (Elektron got close, but too much faffing about with silly button combos) … but the Pulsar looks near perfect for me in so many ways.

I find it awesome that there are so many people appreciating his artistic vision with this instrument.

Agreed, I’ve had the same grief! I’ve tried Drumbrute, 808 copies and Elektrons but nothing really interests me nor sits in my music… but Pulsar could definitely be a fit. Especially because it can be used as a drone synth as well. I luckily pre-ordered the morning it was announced.

The Lyra is just magic, and totally clicked with me. I get the same feeling about the Pulsar. Times a thousand.

And it’s orange!

I like to keep my set up simple and purposful. I rarely buy a piece of equipment without deeply researching it and its alternatives. If the device is new… I often wait for it be out for months or years to see how the build holds up, how the company supports it, and how people find using it. I feel it is the subtle design choices of instruments that makes them playable, and these are rarely apparent in the media rush that accompanies a new device.

And then I saw 1 PULSAR-23 video… and was in love. A hour later after scouring everything about it available I knew it was worth adding to my studio! I took 24 hours to sleep on it… and I’m on the list now (in orange). Sadly, probably somewhere waaaaaaay past #700… So, in 2020 maybe?

The Esoteric Modulation podcast has an excellent interview with Vlad in the most recent episode. Well worth a listen as he talks about his philosophy of synth design and control.

thank you for this, really interesting.

This is great - when Vlad talks about his philosophy of the self and building “bridges” (it sounds like “breaches” - either way the point is the same) to the deep sea within us, that is the mark of a true innovator trying to open channels to new realms of creativity, what a wonderful interview!

great insight to his work, thnx

I was # 879 in early May. I had a similar experience when I first heard demos of the Lyra, it went from “What is this crazy thing?” to “I must have it” within a few days… I don’t normally get on with drum machines, but Vlad’s demos (particularly the ones at Superbooth) showed me that this is a sound and interface absolutely out of this world and sui generis. See you in 2020

Awesome! where’s the update from?

I emailed them direct.

No official statement yet I believe, and we all know how production delays can happen anytime…
