Jumping into Blue Movies this week - A review of “The Lary King Encyclopedic Guide to Adult Video Cassette Movies” from 1984. One of the oddest and more distinctive text resources of the 80s.

I don’t know how I missed these before - they’re fantastic! The joy of being late to a podcast is that it’s quite the reverse of being late to a party - there’s even more to feast upon than there was when it all kicked off!

This week highlights a very cool accessibility item from the 1950s, a complete copy of Betty Crocker’s Good and Easy Cookbook, as recorded for Talking Books for the Blind.

Hi, all
Have set up a weekly Bandamp album, which will update with new shows every Monday.
You’ll find collections for the first 30 episodes in three separate “Road Trip Packs”, too.
Have a good Thanksgiving!

New show up for this week. Mr Rogers’ rarely heard cassette on childhood illness and mortality. Pretty amazing small press recording from 1983, intended for terminally ill children and their parents.
Hardcore Fred Rogers.

This week’s show is all about misusing FM Radio to play all the stations simultaneously with a CV tuner.
A wonderful insane noise I’m guessing a few other Lines folk have enjoyed doing yourselves.

(laughs) ha, thanks so much, @petesasqwax! I’m so appreciative that the email line landed. I agree, it felt like a funny enough observation to consider and share.
CompuServe was pretty cool, admittedly.

That news report is fantastic! Over here we had a weekly show called Tomorrow’s World which regularly demonstrated what the producers of the show clearly felt were the most cutting edge inventions of the day. Some of the inventions were legendary - they appealed to everyone but clearly were impossible to actually realise so the only time anyone ever saw them was on that TV show!
On a side note: your mention of CompuServe reminded me of when a friend of mine brought a 2 way pager back from the US in the 90s, not realising that the phone networks over here would never cater for them…
