regarding all this modular stuff… what are those kind of stiff/not so floppy looking cables in all the isms videos?
I’ve been using these grey doepfer ones and half of them seem to be faulty :frowning: looking for a better option.

those look rad. i’ve been happy with the hosa cables. good cable feel (?) and a pretty narrow barrel. only downside is they don’t sell the colors separately, so i’m unable to color code based on length…

I’ve been using the Mutable-branded bag of braided cables and finding them pleasant enough although those Control BT cables look nice.

@dspk Nope! Had a bunch. Not using them anymore… I thought at first it was because of the length (blue ones) and how I treated them, but then read similar reports about them in general.

I’m pretty happy with the schneider ones (ad infinitum, appear to be the same as in the pink make noise pack, which are my favourite ones, because pink!) not super fancy at all. but they feel pretty good IMO and are cheap.

I was using only stackables and got tired of the puzzle how to fit them all the time. I decided on the Control cables, albeit a bit expensive to import, I’m really happy with the quality and feel. They’re really small, the complete opposite of stackables. And a plus were the colors for me. The sand and brown match my Fender tweed case :grin:

Did you get it for cheaper shipping than they offer on their website? It’s ~$50 to ship to the UK for 1 $1.75 cable!

I have to mention I also ordered some other items, so the shipping wasn’t that out of proportion. But converting $ to €, and the taxes made them a bit pricey… but I think they’re really good and actually saving up to buy another stash…

Surprising nobody has mentioned nazcas if stiffness is a concern…

I got a set from control before they sold their own. I was also planning a purchase from black market but stumbled on an assorted lot of cables for cheap on MW (adinfinitum & tiptop). Nazcas are firmer than any others I’ve tried

the doepfer short yellow cable seems to break a little too easily, otherwise I think they are good, but I also expect any modular cable to wear out finally after lots of patching.

Pretty sure the Black Market & Control cables are identical bar the colours & embossed logo on the barrel. Quite sure I heard they were made in the same factory.

Not sure how up to date it is – but it looks like the control cables are slightly shorter without the bend/connection supports.
