I struggled to get both the music keyboard and the typing keyboard at an ergonomic height. At the time I was using the same computer and desk for work. I’ve now cleanly separated those tasks into different spaces, which makes it easier to prioritize the music keyboard height.
88 keys is just a really demanding presence. It’s best not to try to do much else simultaneously, but I can’t really help myself. There’s always some reason I want some knobs, sliders, a keyboard, a mouse, and a screen.
Some empty desk space is nice too, in case you need to write something down or eat a meal or whatever.
My approach of trying to achieve all this with a butcher block slab, wasn’t really sufficient.
