Good to see someone is already doing skins for it I guess, although I personally find most are not very attractive! At least there is an option for a custom made one but the price for that is again not very attractive…

By the way I received mine from Signal Sound (thanks @fyoosh for posting here), the fader was not protected but no dent or marks on the packaging, all work as expected. Either I am lucky or they sorted their packaging process : D

If only they spent some time designing them… they have terrible contrast and color pairings with the interface of the KO2

Eesh those skins… maybe I am being a bit harsh but they look like the synth equivalent of these monstrosities (stickers to ‘relic’ your guitar):

I don’t own one or any TE gear but saw this and thought this would be the appropriate thread…

WHY?

That’s just obscene.

Reporting that I tried heating up the fader piece by putting it in a little plastic bag (to keep it dry) and submerging that in some boiling water for a minute or so to heat it up… and I think it was worth it. Felt like the resistance was more on par with the other lego pieces, much more reasonable. So, I recommend to anyone concerned about that step.

You could also use a heat gun, but I was both a little worried about applying too much heat and also didn’t feel like finding it.

Also, just an editorial note, I did think a lot about how “Lego” sounded cool initially, but I could honestly care less, it’s not like I’m going to do anything lego-related with my big gray noise calculator.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the packing spectrum, I got two new pairs of drumsticks today :person_facepalming:

Thats exactly what I did when I received mine as the cap was too tight. After a few light shaves the cap went on smooth and snug.

Around 13:00 David says they have a dual core cpu in the KO but they aren’t even using the 2nd core yet, which I think is prettttttty interesting

Yeah, I caught that little bit too. Interesting.

So I got my replacement. The fader works fine. It came with the piece of black plastic hose over the stem. It’s on there pretty tight and makes a descent knob all by itself. I think I’ll just leave it like that for now.

I just got my ko2 today, that black bit of plastic is on there really tight, I didn’t want to remove either, incase I break it

I ended up removing the black plastic with some sturdy tweezers. Didn’t have any issues but it was nerve wracking for sure. If you’re ok with it, I don’t see any reason to remove it.

anybody fix an onboard mic on one of these? i got one with a busted fader for the holidays and the replacement has a non-functional mic. i’m past the point of caring enough to send it back and just accepting that it’s a whack product, but in the event it’s as easy a repair as i imagine, i figure i’ll do it.

Looking at the speaker repair video, it appears to be a surface mount MEMS microphone. Not the most straightforward replacement unless you have some skill with a soldering iron or access to a rework station. Not what I would call a simple repair.

I was lucky enough to have my completely functional unit hand delivered from Sweden by my wonderful wife! A big thanks is also due to @instantjuggler for recommending Scandinavian photo in Stockholm.

My unit came with no samples loaded into any of the groups or patterns, the samples are there just not assigned. Anyone else have this?

Wrong information I’ve found that shift + A (*) clears the current pattern slightly faster than erase + [ABCD]

Correction SHIFT+A advances to a new pattern for that group. You can navigate patterns by holding the group key and +/- or typing a number. This means that multiple scenes can contain the same pattern without copy/pasting, but modifying the pattern will change both scenes. :exploding_head:

I asked this on another forum and no answer. In the end I gave up and made 2 scenes with 8 bars for a 16 bar loop.

Finally getting the work flow down where I feel comfortable enough to use it as my main piece of gear at a music fest in April. Just for a little context on the video. I’m Chickasaw, work at my tribes cultural center and live in my tribes nation. All the audio is sampled from a mixture of our traditional songs, stomp dancer’s shell shakers, and head man’s drum. It’s a really fun feeling incorporating the traditions and culture into this style. Hope ya’ll dig it.

Firmware release 1.2.0 officially landed today (check out the update utility to upgrade: update utility):

Sample tool now allows you to backup and restore images of your EP (who wants to be the first to share a dope EP backup with homegrown samples?) as well as the ability to restore the factory content if you’ve accidentally erased it.

FYI the backup is a zip file, the samples are wav files as expected. The projects are labelled as tar files but I get odd results expanding them on my MacBook… If you want to extract and try repacking, do it with a copy

Yeah a bit disappointed and surprised that they’re not MIDI. Maybe in a future update? Maybe with some clever hacking?
