I couldn’t resist and ordered just now with a view to replace my octatrack. Whilst it’s not a perfect swap for my setup (from what I can tell yet) I feel like it could bring something new. I have both op1s and they always surprised me with new discoveries both within the device and within my sound making. So I don’t know what’s going to happen but I’m ready to embrace some change. Keenly following other people’s experiences.

On the Elektronauts forum, it says that you can get six separate tracks from the OP-XY to the TX-6.

do they mention how to set that up?
edit: a neat thing I’ve just noticed is each track gets its own arp/hold/maestro. so you can start an arp on one track, go to another track do a different arp there, or a hold or whatever.

ok, that seems to be saying you can get 6 tracks from TX-6 into the XY. when going from XY to TX-6 you only get the stereo mix. this is what I’m seeing here as well.

That’s the one thing I really miss in the OP-Z. If they add multi-channel out via USB to the OP-XY I’ll get one immediately.

been hoping for that on the OP1F as well ever since the TX6 and TP7 came out

You need to change TX to 12i 12o same config you’d use with TP-7
this should allow you to link the CV out to another track that can be manipulated by the Brain like on the OP-Z – I plan to HEAVILY use this with my modular stuff so I’m stoked.
Just browsing through the manual it looks like they built in the oplab and Line modules with the XY’s multi jack, but I REALLY wish they would have included Rumble somehow. The tactile response was amazing (though having to choose only one on the Z made it the last practical choice for me)

Woah, that is a cool feature! Thanks for the summary.
@aaronweits does the linking tracks feature just pass through the note data or is it stuff like mute state?
@Justmat have you tried running external midi into the brain? It’d be really sick to have the OP-XY arrangement adapt key in realtime to my improvised melodies

Right, sorry misunderstood initial post. You can only select the multiple inputs out of TX into XY.
Very very nice. Now I really can’t wait for mine to arrive tomorrow.

No luck with the CV + Brain combo yet – I sent a support email in to see if it’s possible and will share. My first attempt playing around with it in general IS very fun, but would be magical with the Brain transposing things
EDIT: got a response from TE, not currently possible. but, “we are happy to let you know we have now forwarded your feature request to our development team: this will be reviewed and perhaps you will have the surprise of finding it released in one of our future updates!”

This was already identified as not a capability over on elektron forum IIRC, and not necessarily bug or oversight.

Anyone here facing the pitch bend issue with their new OP-XY ?
I have an XY and didn’t know what the pitch bend issue was so had to search. I seem to be unaffected, but I also don’t love the feeling of how the pitch bend itself works. I would have preferred a touch plate
on the right side near the logo.
One annoyance - how is it that the manual text can’t be searched? I just had to OCR it in Adobe Acrobat
