TBH I think that the box it came in is FAR superior to the “soft” case, which is now a cable case for me. Stick the box in a thick sock and you should be golden.

Awesome news!!! That little sequencer thing looks rad as well.

Hi op-z fam. I’m back to share a 30 minute set using the OP-Z and my Eurorack. 14 Patterns over 30 minutes. Fun times!

I was messing with the midi json file to try to change the channels so tracks 5-8 would be midi channels 1-4 to try to sequence things through my keystep but couldn’t get it to work. Tried to get the json file back to normal but now it seems I can’t even play the op-z with the keystep anymore? Haha, any ideas on a fix for this? I’m stumped but completely clueless when it comes to things like this

Going to the module track on the op-z and enabling midi out and in doesn’t seem to do anything

Though it seems to work just fine plugging direct into my computer to control ableton

I’m so glad you posted this. I’m having some significant noise issues when sending midi from Norns to the OPZ.

You can also turn off USB charging now @Look_o_u_t. From what I’ve gathered thats where a lot of the noise comes from.

Yes but the battery being what it is, it’s kind of sad to have to lose the charging when you’re connected. I’ll try Expressive E’s solution tomorow and will see if it works nicely for charging while eliminating the noise.

Agreed! I’m dealing with that same issue now, but if charging is needed while using usb midi… any usb isolator should work just fine!

I can confirm I just tried turning off USB charging. Less noise!

I’m not sure what brand I tried but the one I got needed to much tlc when it came to audio levels. The one I had clipped if you looked at it wrong

i got this for my op-1 a long time ago and it seems to work fine with the zed as well:

Yesterday I thought about using projects in a different way than I usually do. I made short bass and chord notes for each sequence. I starting from A major, A minor, all the way to G maj & minor. I put two suspended chords in the last 2 spaces. Now programming pattern chains let me try some chord progressions In a different way. Almost like using changing on a macro level.

op-z can “NOT play every nth time”. Simply add ‘trigger spark’ to a step, press 4 to trigger every 4th step, press 4 again; now the step will trigger every 1st trig, ignoring 2, 3 and 4, press 4 again; now the step will trigger every 2, 3 and 4, ignoring the 1st.

Yes thanks @DegradedEcho :+1: — my comment was written before those trigger modes were known.
