This is a neat trick and can be used to nice effect, courtesy of Michael Helqvist on YT

I just tried to set the fx tracks as inputs to the tape track but it seems like it doesn’t work… Is it just me? I thought this might be a cool work around for lack of dry/wet.

It’s actually pretty simple. It is a buffer loop of a set number of bars. Each of the ā€˜white’ keys (under the number keys) is a section of the loop buffer and the number that is selected is the number of beats PDFs the buffer you’re cutting out and repeating. I’m guessing that might not be the MOST descriptive. But that’s the basic function. You can then speed up a or down those slices or toggle which channels are sent in to the buffer.

I think tape is running parallel to FX. I’ve wanted to send only the delay channel to the tape to little effect.

thanks, I’m going to try those ideas out and see what happens

I’m currently using my OP-Z with a QuNexus keyboard over USB, but would like to add a knob-based MIDI controller to my live setup. Does anyone have experience with using multiple MIDI devices over a USB hub with the Z? It sounds like firmware 1.1.27 added support for this configuration, but I just wanted to check and see if there were any known snags before making any purchases. Thanks!

Good times with the OP-Z

Thank you very much!

anybody know how to change the key? I’ve entered the notes of the key of G major in the bass track but it does not recognize it. I get ā€œundefined keyā€. C major works fine.

edit: found a fix. Clearing the pattern and re-entering the notes on the bass track did the trick.

got mine yesterday

this thing is a BLAST

it look me a longtime to justify picking one up but the ease of sampling & usb audio i/o make it well worth the price (for me)

i’m seeing it as a supercharged + streamlined stack of PO-33s rather than a stripped down version of the op1

mabye i’ll grow to find flaws but it’s amazing to play with so far

Happy you like it! What amazes me about it is how I feel you can really hear the personnality of its users through the results of what people make with it. The sign of a versatile and well made instrument I think, that it doesn’t just keep you within its walls but really open you up to access things that feels like you. I can really hear you through your first jams with it and it doesn’t sound anything like what I or @yobink do with it. It’s very nice.

Man, you guys are really making me consider picking up an OP-Z again. Apparently TE added a reverb that’s actually usable in the past few months, which was my biggest gripe when I had one - well, that and the tiny buttons were a bit hard to use for my sausage fingers.

Has anybody here used the OPLAB module to trigger external synths? Is that pretty intuitive? I’d like to be able to sequence my NTS-1 (and other future synths) with whatever hardware brain I end up buying.

I’ve used the OP-Lab quite a bit and as long as you have an iPhone or Android to set up midi channels, it works damn well!
