You mean the two pins on the left of the text? Is it this one?
Thanks!

r48 correct…

Thanks @tehn !

Looking forward to building this one,

Cheers!

arggggghh i finished the build only to find out i got the lcd one with the molex connector :frowning:
Got confused and did not get the one with the pins for the pcb.
Wondering if its worh the effort trying to make my own connector but it doubt it :frowning:

@hi.mo and @tehn could you please let me know what light diffusers your are using and what is the spacer size and boltt diameter used?

Thanks!

@tehn do you think this would work?

Apologies for the macro bumping of this thread.

So i have used one of my fates lcds (NHD-2.7-12864WDW3 OLED Display)
and im struggling on how to actually flash the teletype.

i have tried powering the module with the button pressed to go into bootloader mode, then i plug the usb cable from the teletype to the computer (the correct data usb cable)

My computer (mac) does not read the device.

Im trying to follow the github teletype instructions but im lost.

Have tried installing from the latest release 3.1.0 and clicking on the update_firmware.command but it says not dfu detected:frowning:

I have installed dfu programmer from homebrew like indicated.

Im trying to follow up the libavr32 install instructions, but i dont know if im doing the right steps.

Can anyone share a a dummies procedure to flash teletype?

I have flashed many mutable modules and updated ansible / teletype before, but im lost on actually flashing it.

Much appreciated!

Could someone give me the part number for the led diffusers? I bought a black panel to put on my teletype but don’t want to Rick breaking the ones from the original panel

Ordering boards this week for this project. excited

Might use these as a way to spruce on my TX’s.

Hi @thopa did you get it flashed, in the end? I’m guessing you have to do it via the micro header, rather than the USB, but maybe I’m wrong.

@toneburst I literally just finished my first teletype. I recycled all the expensive components from a fail build (pcb was not right) and i build a frankenstein today.

Flashing was fine. I downloaded the latest firmware, there is a update command inside the zip file and it flashed the mcu  think you need to download dfu programmer, but its all very clear on the monome website.

I struggled with the lcd height though…if i laid it on top of the pins, the jacks did not reach properly. Had to improvise a lot! I got some diode legs and cut them to the right height and soldered them to lcd to after.

The original teletype has a protecting screen between the lcd and the pcb.

Had to try different spacers combinations to get it mostly right.

Had not tested the dac or trigger inputs yet but its seems to be working ok to the keyboard commands and importing scenes.

Hopefully the next teletype build wont be such a challenge

Pm me if you need any more help with your build

Cheers

Cool, glad you got it mostly working, anyway. I haven’t got a board, yet. Been making up a Norns Shield and Fates, but Teletype will be my next project, probably.

@toneburst I’ve got a spare pcb - and I owe you one… :slight_smile:

Oh, cool, that’s a very generous offer!

I’m a little scared of 0402 though, I have to say.

0402 is fine - I often prefer it - the build can be faster… pm me your address if you want one - I’ve not even opened the packaging yet! Will order parts in the next week or two…

The encoder doesn’t seem to be in the BOM at all. Anyone got a part# for it?

normal 10k lin alpha 9mm pot

Oh, thought it was an encoder. Linear, I guess, since it’s for data-entry (I assume).

Yes, linear

Does anyone know the resistor values for R43, and R44?

Also, @tehn the manufacturer number for the 1K 0402 resistors in the octopart BoM is the same as the one for the 10K resistors.
