Mine are eye-searers…

Sorry, just double-checked, mine are from mouser.

Hi everyone!
I would like to thank you all for your great support! My first Teletype is in perfect working condition.
Thank you @frankchannel, @toneburst, @desolationjones, @thopa and @tehn for making it open-source!

Anyone knows other DIYs where the DC-DC-converter is used?
Got a few spare parts too much…

Mutable Plaits? out of memory…some mutable use them, @forestcaver surely knows

I really can’t think of any other modules that use the +5V that the teletype uses. A lot of the newer MI stuff are utilizing the Recom dc-dc converters and several DIY builds come to mind for that particiular .5A 5V/3.3V modules. Modules coming to mind are Plaits, Marbles, Neutron Sound Dust of Time, westlicht per|former, uTidesII that use the Recom converter. I’ve seen dc-dc like the one linked above in some modular PSUs.

Just ordered a teletype pcb/panel, txb, and txo. Hype about checking all of this out.

Thank you @jmsiener! Lets see what I will do with those converters then…
Teletype is quite inspiring if you take your time to work into its ecosystem. Also something like the txi, 16n faderbank and especially the grid are great controllers for Teletype! The txb is especially useful with the 16n faderbank but despite this you won´t need it at the beginning as your i2c-system starts small. Have fun with the builds!

Just build the second Teletype and it works except for TR INs 5 and 6 are merged. They are both triggering each other. So my first estimation is despite that I have double-checked each single pin of U2 for bridges between adjacent pins that I have missed a bridge between A04 and A05:

I will double-check this again. Any other suggestions to check?

EDIT: Found it! As estimated. It´s perhaps also good for others for trouble-shooting.

Hi guys, anyone know where to source the screen for the Teletype, sold out everwhere I looked :\

Digikey has 154 in stock. You might want to try using octopart as it lists the stock available from a wide number of distributers

I can’t seem to find anything about calibrating the Teletype CV outputs in the docs.

The 4 outputs of my unit seem to output quite different values when set to 0.

  1. 0.0022V
  2. 0.0017V
  3. 0.0002V
  4. 0.0011V

I realise these offsets are very small, but I’d like to try and remove them altogether, if possible, in the same way as it possible with the CV outputs of the TELEXo expander.

There’s an open issue.

Oh, so there’s currently no way to remove the offset and save the calibration data. Good to know.

It’s pretty small, anyway, so I’ll just not worry about it, for the moment

Thanks mate, for some reason the octapart BOM for teletype doesn’t include the oled, which part number do you have? Just checked on Digikey and same thing out of stock (I looked for : 763-NHD2712864WDW3)

Try this one: https://octopart.com/nhd-2.7-12864wdy3-newhaven+display-84706410
(Although that one is yellow. Maybe you wanted white?)

perfect thanks so much

Does anyone have a part number for the potentiometer on the teletype? I bought a bourns 10k, but its mounting pins aren’t right.

Pretty sure you can use a plain old 10k linear alpha pot. I won’t lie though, thoughT about ordering some of the Bi/TT ones with the d shaft just to keep it fancy.

I think way up top in this thread (1st 100 posts) someone mentions that’s it’s a plain old 10k pot/footprint.
