So, Iā€™m giving this a whirl but canā€™t get JF to make any sound. My setup differs in that I donā€™t have a TXo. So Iā€™m sending triggers into TT with Pamā€™s, and have omitted the TXo specific portions of code. What else might I be doing wrong?

JF is in sound/transient mode, with the knobs more or less at noon.

Also, FWIW, when I reboot and put Ansible in leader mode, it works just fine. So the i2c connection is solid between those two. I assume that the connection between TT and JF is solid, but is there any way I can double check via TT?

Edit: I had forgotten jf.mode 1 which confirms that it is time for sleep :slight_smile:

Thank you for sharing this. What you made was lovely.

I have gone back and forth about ordering a TT. Iā€™m waiting for a restock of JF and 3Sis (and also grid) and am currently looking into using TT without theseā€¦ more studying and research to do, but you have brought me back around. Thank you for that.

yeah it is so often something simple. also i usually use ansible to send the triggers to tt for this. i only used the TX0 to get the tuplet / individual metro thing going.

so
JF.MODE in live mode or maybe the I page
then
JF.VOX 1 KR.CV 1 V 5 on page 1
then plus the trigger out from kria on track one into input one on tt and you should be good to go. the first output of jf should respond to whatever note/trigger info you have on that track.

well thank you very much, really appreciate the kind words and i am glad you liked it and found it useful :slight_smile: this whole ecosystem is amazing. there is a bit of a learning curve for sure but well worth it in my opinion. one way to dive in headfirst, which is what i did. i made a small system with NO other voltage sources. this way you have to do everything on tt and before long you can do stuff super fast!

Just popping in to say; This video has really really inspired me. I am so excited to try some of what youā€™ve built here and I honestly GREATLY appreciate the work you put in to this. It is so simple, elegant and informative.

Only thing I would ask is that you consider potentially making more!!! :smiley:

I just got my Just Friends today, so I thought iā€™d give following this along a shot as Iā€™ve seen it before and thought it was so awesome.

All is well until I try to get the tuplets going, in this case, I donā€™t have a TX0 so I was using TR.P1 / TR.P2 / TR.P 3 / TR.P 4 in the M script to send these triggers to scripts 1-3, when I try to trigger script 8 (using Trigger 4), it contains the following code

X RND 11
TR.P 3 MUL 3 X

but nothing is happening, TR.P 3 continues to trigger as usual. Iā€™m new to teletype so iā€™m sure this is something really simple/obvious, or something iā€™m doing wrong because iā€™m not using a TX0 but if anyone has any ideas that would be great as iā€™d love to get this going in the same way and then experiment with it further :slight_smile:

Well I am glad you liked the video!!! But to the best of my knowledge the only way to do the tuplet part is with the TX0 as that has individual metronomes which is how you can achieve the tuplets. Teletype on its own has only the single one. Again, tt is vast and likely there is a way to do this sans TX0 I am just not sure how you could do it :slight_smile:

Are you trying to ping trigger 3 between 0 and 33 times? Or are you trying to ping it at a different rate than your metro?

In either case, DEL.R X TIME:... would probably help. Triplets for example:

DEL.R 3 / M 3: TR.P 3 (fire three pings on trigger 3, spaced by 1/3 of M rate)

Iā€™ve tried to follow the tutorial but I couldnā€™t because the signals of TXo doesnā€™t trigger anything. I mean, after

TO.M.BPM 1 70
TO.M.ACT 1 1

I see the trigger lights from TXo blinking. However, when I connect these outputs to Teletypeā€™s trigger inputs, Teletype doesnā€™t trigger any script.
Iā€™ve also tried to connect TXo trigger outputs to the gate of my envelope generator but the envelope generator isnā€™t activated by these signals neither.
Is because they are weak? If so, how could I make them stronger?

Did you try to set your Txo gate with this ?

TO.TR.WIDTH x y (x for the output and y the pourcentage)

I didnā€™t use the command you mention.

But I used

TO.TR.M x y

and I saw how leds were more/less time turned on (without any effect on triggering Teletypeā€™s trigger inputs).

Anyway, right now Iā€™m not in front of my eurorack case, but this afternoon Iā€™m going to check if

TO.TR.WIDTH x y

helps.

has no effect. I mean, it works, lights blink more or less time depending on y value. But it has no effect on triggering other modules trigger inputs. Does anybody know why?

Hmmm. Few ideas. Can you take the signal and trigger something else that is not teletype? Like an envelope or something? The other thing that has happened to me a few times is that the 2nd circuit board can come loose on the TX0 causing weird behavior. Perhaps you can open your case and re-seat that board (I ended up using a zip tie to keep it on there).
