Teletype : text data in patterns?

I was wondering if it would be possible to add the ability to input text in patterns.
This would allow to trigger different OPs by calling pattern indexes. Especially now that we have aliases.
Also, it could improve readability of patterns. For instance, to program a drum pattern, you could name hits, like BD, SN, etc…
Thoughts ?

do you mean being able to name pattern banks? or being able to input commands in patterns and execute them by specifying a bank and index? the latter will be eventually covered by the timeline feature.
