Same as you, I like the warble and lo-fi feels from the pedal!

About the TWIST, WARP functions, they’re great but the amplitude can be very high and while bypass it drops dramatically, I want it to be a steady fade instead of instantly fade. Also the FADE function fades out shorter than my taste. Do you use theses and what’s your solution/ workaround?

I don’t even know it has an editor, will try! Thanks.

I really haven’t touched the warp or fade functions. I know I tried them out when I first got the thing but I can’t remember how they sounded, so I must not have liked them much either

in case there’s people here that don’t normally look at NLC stuff, this new delay module looks really interesting: https://soundcloud.com/subconsciousinclination/nlc-dispersion-delay-demo

seems like the triple vactrol into delay could be deadly. i’d recommend the soundcloud and check out the notes linked in the description – andrew’s videos tend to be more on the nutty side and the soundcloud link has i think better examples as a more trad delay ~

Nice! Congratulations!

You’re controlling it using CV from 16n it seems? All working as expected?
Have you by any chance ever used a space echo and are able to compare them?

yup. CV out from the 16n (fwiw the echofix manual says that you should never plug an any cv over 5V or it voids the warranty  so i made sure to double check how much 16n was putting out).

Haven’t had my grubby little mitts on a tape delay for years, but have played around with a WEM Copycat and an Echoplex back in the day. So, no immediate side by side comparison, but the EFX2 fulfills all of my tape delay wishes. sounds great.

HOLY COW! How much does one of those beautiful contraptions set you back, if you don’t mind me asking?

a bit over 2000aud …

Not cheap, but that’s one hell of a lot of delay. It’s literally the only delay you’ll ever need to buy for the rest of your life (this is the sale pitch I would use when justifying it to myself/my wife)

much less than a vintage spaceecho, echoplex, or the cost of repairing any one of those :man_shrugging: at least thats how I justified it

My thoughts exactly!

On the 100% opposite end of the spectrum I scored a Mooer Ana Echo for $29 at a local guitar store. I was a bit worried that 300ms would just be too short, but I’ve been finding that limiting my delay times makes for more interesting flourishes on a voice with a short envelope. It really reminds me of the sound of stripes’ DPO into Echophon video from a couple years back. I hate tiny pedals for my guitar board, but it’s not bad when it just sits on my desk.

I’ve heard lots of people recommend mooer for a good price / performance ratio. I have two medium-sized pedalboards with which I’m pretty happy, but if any of my pedals give up the ghost, I’ll be sure to check mooer out…

One thing I like doing with analog delays with a short delay time (typically used for slap-back effects etc), is setting the delay to minimum and using the effect 100% wet.

The BBD processing has a really nice effect on ‘smearing’ the transients and mellowing out a lot of signals (due to the companding circuits and pre-emphasis filters etc.).

This is the idea behind the EHX Analogizer (a great pedal).

Worth noting that ST-Modular has a DIY adapter for Mooer pedals to euro.

It’s been mentioned in this thread once or twice but I’ve been using an EHX Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai consistently for a few years for guitars and synths. Can’t think of a similar delay feature wise.

Chiming in my support for the boss dd7. Such a small footprint, it’s easy to make room for it.

Stereo is fun, and @shellfritsch’s tip on longer delays via self patching is great.

I’ve been sending the clock out from Meadowphysics to the tempo/exp in to keep it in time with my patch. You can then tweak the time knob to get all wonky in the feedback, and it automatically syncs back up to the clock signal it’s receiving.

Then I had the idea to use 1 of the 8 TR outs and send that to the tempo/exp input instead - you can then vary the delay time via grid on the fly, all within timing of your patch.

I have a space echo, lexicon pcm41, Ibanez 202 - but the dd7 keeps hangin around.

What do I need to sync my H9 and Mood to a clock or modulation from my modular? Can’t figure out what cable I need
