The Delay Thread

This is an interesting spin
Would pair well with Norns

I think I saw the hearth of this in Conrad (Europe). Do anyone has a hint where to source the active earaser head?

I had Magneto and agree that the Wow/Flutter has some unique Mojo to it. When I left Eurorack I didn’t want to keep it in a Pod. I’m pretty happy with the RE-202, but if El Cap V2’s basic sound is similar to Magneto, I’d love to hear a comparison to the RE-202. I never use more than two playheads anyway.

it’s great how our taste differ. When I had my Magneto I didn’t like their wow/crackles artefacts, just for me they sounded artificial. I had only El Cp mk1 and with guitar it sounded extremely good if I remember it right after 10 years. For now, I couldn’t find any tape emulation in pedals which can be on the same level with plugins like Audiority T7E echo. It is based on Binson’s sound but the whole atmosphere and artefacts are closer to real one than in pedals

This is amazing! Anyone interested in making one for me?

I looked into that one and the BOM is quite hefty, i was too lazy, but if anyone makes an octopart/mouser/digikey one to see how price and availability looks like, i’d probably be interested in making a couple of them.

Two favorites that I compared today after the larger one came back from some light maintenance.

Love the DE-7 to bits. If only wish there was a way to send clock…

I built a ā€˜perfect for me’ delay in a pallet that has been very cool and very fun!

The monsoon most often lives in the Magneto feedback path.
The env follower really brings it to life!
And the RND step creates such cool modulation regardless if I’m triggering it with the main clock in, divided clocks, or the various clock outputs from the magneto!

It was my first delay…used it extensively in the mid-2000s when I got into kraut. I really liked it back then, but only later realized how good it actually is.

I haven’t been using my Polyphrase a ton and was thinking about selling it, but I have to say the extended filter range in the new firmware is really nice. It’s a big improvement and I think I’m gonna hang onto it for a little while longer.
