Yes, sorry. My desk job drove me temporarily insane.

Ha - I know that all too well. I hope your situation improved. Bright side - you have a double knot to jam with already! :rainbow:

Control is as well. https://www.ctrl-mod.com/products/double-knot-2 They’ve also been putting up demo videos on their YouTube channel.

I think (pre-)orders have been open on the Lorre-mill website since they announced it. Sounds like the first batch will be completed soon.

Wow! V2 Is nice!

  • New envelopers are a ball! Cool, serge-y ratcheting in loop mode.
  • <3 Clock divider and logic.
  • Volume control is great to have!
  • Really fun to play with V1.
  • In addition to the envelopers being different the FM of the V2 seems less extreme than the V1. It doesn’t clip as much, at least with my units.
I’m glad I went for it. It is not as redundant as I was worried it would be, and the V1 still has enough difference that they both have a place.

I’ll try to get some sounds posted of the two playing later on.

Hmm, there’s a small opening in my studio space and Double Knot is within my budget…

Mostly I’m looking for drones and textures from something a bit unconventional, though rhythmic bits will occasionally be welcome. With that emphasis, do you think the DK would work for me or should I be looking elsewhere? I like what I’ve heard so far in @Allieway_Audio’s video on using it for drones, and other random bits from demos…

while it certainly can go to those places, it doesn’t necessarily want to. I’d probably look elsewhere if drones/textural work is your primary need, tbh.

That said, using things in unconventional ways can lead to interesting results, so ???

I feel the dk largely wants to do plinkyplonkypercussive stuff tho

The VCA controls on the V2 do allow it to drone a lot better/easier than the V1. I personally spend way more time blipping and making funky rhythms with em my self though.

Thanks… I learned my lesson with some other gear that going against what a synth or module wants to do might sound appealing to me at first, but ends up being kind of frustrating after a while.

Maybe the Bug Brand Chirper is something that would fit your needs?

That’s screaming Lyra 8 to me

Hmmm… the demos just aren’t doing it for me, and the architecture seems really easy to replicate in Euro. To me shift register patterns that can running at audio rate are a lot more interesting.

Definitely one I’ve thought about. The sound is right up my alley, I just worry a little that I might stop playing anything else  …and I just bought one :yum:

How are your DIY skills? You could build a CMOS Lunetta synth for a little bit of money, but (probably) a lot of time.

Almost nonexistent, I’m sorry to say.

Here is the V1 and V2 playing together.
