are you using sample rate reduction anywhere in this patch ?? it soundsss so glitched and nice

well, technically, yes…what you are hearing is the bionic lester filter, which is a switched capacitor design…so it has internal vcos that control the filter cutoff, and they bleed through when you get into low (and i guess high in some modes) cutoffs, which is where the aliasing comes in. so really, its a byproduct of that, but tasty nontheless.

This Beat Freq circuit looks compelling! There’s also a triple “VCAs” with a fuzz distortion on channel 3.

It’s random, but does sound like it kind of behaves with a clock, which seems like it could have some easier-to-integrate traditional applications.

I love it. With the caps sticking out the front of the panel? Perfect. Andrew cracks me up.

Now my Triple Sloth is obsolete, though…

“The large capacitors sticking through the panel never see more than +/-0.15V in normal use. Nevertheless you probably should not take the module out of the case and rest your tongue across their leads.”

Dual PLL w/LPGs in the circuit, nice!

anybody have experience with genie? or cant believe its not vco?

can’t find much discussion or demonstration for these two online…if i could find them built that wouldnt matter cause i understand them well enough to pull the trigger on a purchase

just curious if any lines peeps have knowledge about em

I’ve been wondering about some of these newer modules as well as I put together a synthcube order

I Can’t Believe It’s Not a VCO looks a little limited but I suspect I am just not getting it. Looking at vids or threads on the older NLC Neuron/Diff-Rect May be helpful in understanding the Genie… though I get the impression you just gotta take the plunge with a lot of these.

So take it easy out there. And connect with your sloth(s).

I’m building a small 32 hp case to complement an er-301 and teletype based system. I’m set on having a triple sloths, delay no more, and a cold mac, leaving me with 8 hp. Anyone have a recommendation for choosing between NLC’s 8 hp offerings? The ones that have caught my eye are the neuron, flip flop chaos, divine cmos, and Signum hyperchaos, but feel free to suggest any others!

… aka Sloths. I just received the PCB/panel set, the black limited edition. Looks great. I wish more NLC modules was available in black!

I have a black panel Hypster and it looks wonderful

Sly Grogan is one of my favourites. Can be used for unique envelope/LFO shapes. Brings a very interesting character to dynamics

Has anyone built any of the 1u’s yet? Wondering if they’re feasible as a first SMT build

Built several, yes they’re perfect first-SMT builds!

I am curious to know if anyone is using the matrix mixer:

It looks like a beast, but am curious how it fares in use. Sound quality, how do the pots hold up etc.

Also, you guys are making me thing I need the Splosh… :eyes:
