Personally I donāt like pure convolution reverbs because they are static and donāt blend with varied source material. And DIY plates are very hit or miss on real drums and vocals; itās not like the steel selection process is anywhere near the level of an EMT140. Not sure that matters at all for your purposes, but if you want something to use for recording tooā¦
Catalinbread Talisman is good cheap live option but you would have to attenuate signal first.
The plate reverb in Grand Terminal is pretty good, I assume the same is true of Milky Way.
BAM has a good lexicony plate algorithm.
TC electronics rack units tend to have very good plates, and a few like TC 4000 preserve stereo panning and have early reflections control, so if you can find one cheapā¦
And Sony DPS-V77 for cheaper option, still much better than any Eurorack plate algorithm.
If you incorporate a computer, Valhalla plate cheaper option, UAD or Relab for more expensive. You could also go down rabbit hole of Acustica, but that has a lot of latency typically.
