This. I’ve always thought that about 50% of the space should be storage, and if it’s not, storage is going to overflow to living side anyway. Which it does permanently here, we’re well under 50% of storage I would guess.
Alternatively: an old, known art museum director and a design connoisseur here had a super minimalistic and impeccably styled downtown apartment that he showed in a large number of magazine articles, in interviews and to international guests like “this is the person who’s a big authority on art and design around here, and yet, look how stylish, minimal and clean his personal lifestyle is”. Only, someone I know who worked with him once said that what he never really told the reporters and guests was that he had another even larger apartment further away from downtown, where he actually lived, and which was filled to the brim with all kinds of objects he’d collected - apparently in permanent chaos.
(I guess that kind of compares to having a Tiny Studio Corner with an Octatrack, a Norns + Grid, a 3U modular box and a succulent plant… and somewhere else well out of the picture, a stash of old workstation keyboards, FM synths, wall size 5U modular, Akai rack samplers and a big studio desk)

The euro case has gone through several iterations over the past 2-years.
It’s very much a self contained instrument now and don’t really see it changing much.
There are less voices, more effects. I have Microcell (Clouds), Morphagene, Databender and an FX-Aid in there.
Pam keeps everything in sync and in the lower row I have an ER-301, which is a modular in a modular with sequencing handled by Ansible running Kria via the Grid. I also have a Crow in there for sequencing via Norns (not shown) and Ochd provides 8 independent unsynced LFO’s.
VCV is largely used to build out larger patches, and to use Teletype for live coding and also to send audio to the effects etc via the ES-9.
I far prefer the tactile nature of the little eurocase and probably spend 80% of my time making music on it with VCV Rack filing the gaps.

floating design using a monitor arm with a vesa mount, hint-hint

That’s a great idea, I’ve even got a spare one after some work-from-home credit.
Now to find a vesa mount platform…

You don’t need a platform as the Digitakt has direct Vesa mounting holes for M4 screws in its base plate.

If you can show me where in the photo that would fit without blocking any other gear, be my guest!
Its not so much about wether something can fit or not, and more about if packing it into the space will suddenly make every single other piece of gear harder and more awkward to play. I’m a musician, not a collector.
I think when dealing with a truly tiny space, it’s important to focus on the limit of what makes instruments in the studio playable, rather than the limit of what can technically fit. Too much focus on the latter can leave you with an inspiring music space that you never use because you’re always awkwardly reaching around other stuff.

I’ve owned some pretty fancy reverbs, the Wedge is the one that stayed!

Is it true that it’s the same as the Midiverb 4? I’ve been trying to fill the void in my life with rack effects recently and there was one of those available near me.
One option is to have it as a swivel mount or a drawer regardless, and simply make a choice which pieces of gear to use / not use at once. That’s what I did when I had a really small space: have instruments x, y and z available, even if only some subsets of two can be positioned and played ergonomically at once.
Don’t quote me on this, but I think they have different algorithms as well. Wedge has this particular one I love which can go very big and smooth, which I think Midiverb IV didn’t. (Source: owned Wedge for quite a while, tried MV4 a friend owned).

What is the stand you are using for the Blackbox? That looks awesome!

I like the horizontal keyboard stacking in your skadis. Gonna try that in my place, for some reason I only stowed some mini keyboards (casio toys, CS01) vertically
Edit: Now I remember why it did not work
The keys are pushed down

what’s the piece of wood or box in front of the grid?
Ah. That is the lid for the KOMA field kit. I sometimes use it to clamp little springs and motors and other bobs and bits to do all that cool KOMA electro-acoustic stuff and sample it into Norns.

tiny spaces, nooks, cupboards, desks, corners i feel ought remain in focus for this thread as they are a whole thing!
@nonverbalpoetry we also live with an enormous dog friend. the gangway betwixt our bedroom mezz and studio nest keeps his wilderness filth blessedly distant from the shinies! (p.s we always love to see your beautiful cozy boathome!)
