It’s a laptop but there is a Wacom tablet hidden underneath the desk!

Yeah, it isn’t usually that tidy xD

Updated corner with a few additions and some tidy rearrangement

Love that LSDJ setup

I’m leaning more mGB, these days, but I’ve got some likely avenues back to LSDJ on the horizon.

Last time it was tidy:

Slim Phatty and PX-7 are gone, got some moogerfoogers and a cp251 again. I’m saving up for a new digital poly, probably Hydrasynth, wavestate, or virus ti2.

This is my only place for music stuff: a corner of our guest bedroom

Great house to be a guest in!

Revamped my little happy place tonight. Found a “Professional DJ table” on eBay and it fits well in my space. The monologue is hooked up to the force because I’m a terrible keys player!! Keeping it up and out the way makes sense.

My studio is a corner of our bedroom:

Though we have instruments all through the house:

(not shown: upright piano, electric guitars/amps.)

The idea being you can just grab something and start jamming at any time

“instruments throughout the house” makes me happy.

current state of my tiny studio corner/imminently arriving second child’s nursery. c-l seems well suited to an infant’s room.

Since we now share our bedroom with our 8month old daughter, I had to set up camp in our living room. Very enjoyable and immediate setup. And I can try to squeeze in both a morning nap session and a “alone in the living room late night” session.

Last night I was in the zone, recording something, and then left to go the bathroom. When I came back I realized no matter what, I always end up with all my gear scattered around on the floor. I have a desk and shelves, but I always end up in a tangle. (Missing from photo: laptop to the right)

Embrace it! I’m a floor dweller too. I’ve finally given in and have started building my floor based workflow.

I’ve embraced the floorcore setup as well. I usually sit cross-legged on yoga blocks. It’s a nice compromise b/w standing (active) and sitting at a desk (passive).

Cleared out a tiny corner in the living room, to assemble everything together. Hopefully this setup will form the bones of my next album. My son loves to crawl under the desk, as it’s the one place he know’s he’s not allowed to be.

nice! how are you liking that 73-75 serge?

I enjoy it! I was a very challenging DIY project, took maybe a year to complete. The documentation is pretty sparse from THC, so I had to fill in the gaps from old Serge manuals and a backup of the CGS website. Some light machine working involved too in joining the two boats together.

When I play I have a specific mindset. I think of using the 73-75 like historical reenacting. The features are not comparable to modern Serge like R*S or last warning. But I’ve enjoyed exploring the limitations to see what I can create.

I’ve had a ball playing the home built serge with Lorre-mill stuff. They are pretty compatible.
