Phenol? Never heard of one of those - is that a semi modular synth? How’re you finding it?

Lovely set up - I wish I’d had something like that while at Uni!

By Kilpatrick Audio. I think it’s pretty well-loved, but also keen to hear OP’s thoughts

Compact serge-like system that can be used as an instrument on it’s own or as an analog FX unit with built in preamp. Will not make sound without patching so technically not semi modular (but I know what you mean).

i think its pretty great overall once you add to it a little. it has two oscillators, two envelopes, two vcas, and two filters (one bp and one lp) so you can have two full voices just by adding some other way to get pitch other than the onboard midi-cv. it doesn’t really have a distinct sound, everything is pretty clinical but i like that. theres a nice lofi delay at the output stage which is also quite nice.

i got one for a really good deal (little over half retail + lots of cables). i diyed the whole eurorack (minus clouds) both to save $$$ and to learn some new skills so at such a low price this was a good addition to jumpstart more possibilities with the rack.

Just got a new table and moved out of a literal corner to a wider space lol.

Sort of miss my Phenol. Loved the weird envelopes as sequencers

Oh damn cool I love my phenol! I got it to fill in some functions for the serge panel that should be finished next week. The envelopes behave a little strangely but the quantized voltage is so fun

This is my corner. I have a bit more gear than fits, so I have swappable “setups” depending on what type of music I’m making. Right now working on shnth programs that run through mlr/otis/pedalboard to accompany the Shared System.

Would you happen to know (roughly) the dimensions of that desk? That looks just about perfect for what I need.

I’d also love knowing the make/model of that desk!

about 42.5 x 20 inches

Picked it from Craigslist, along with the chair, so I’m not 100% sure of origins.

I thought it was Target, but I don’t see any branding or anything matching on their site. It says “Office Star Products” on the bottom actually.

Edit: it has 2x drawers and a flap on top of the desk hiding 2x power outlets and 2x USB ports too, which is nice. The USB port powers a Pi/Fates perfectly.

After moving house the 4th time this year, I finally have a spot where I can leave things set up for more than a few hours at a time! :hugs:

What stand is that? It looks perfect.

I’m guessing it is On-Stage GS7462B A-Frame Guitar Stand… I have the same one for my shared system and it works great. I was skeptical at first, but definitely stands up to my cat jumping on and off the table and rubbing against it.

Yeah it’s an unbranded stand made to fit both acoustic & electric guitars - it is deep with a little dip in the middle. Also the point where the case rests on the top of the stand is covered in rubber, so no slips or scratches

Just picked up this well designed compact desk from LeetesIslandWoodwork. Would be a great option for a tiny studio corner.

Not sure if this is the best thread to share, but this brings me immense joy. It is just a dumb piece of plastic but the edges are rubber so it as a “grip” to it and norns doesn’t slide around. Perfect angle for hacking and playing. It’s the Bluelounge Casa.

EDIT/UPDATE: I actually use this flipped upside down now. The norns starts to slide off when it is left running for a long time.
