I thought about buying a SĂ€len Jazz Natural (though it would take some time to put the needed money aside). I have not yet have the chance to play one but some research suggests that the idiosyncratic shape of the neck might be a deal breaker. Iâd be grateful if you could say something about itâŠ

Iâve been wishing for a 7-string SĂ€len Jazz Natural to appear on their lineup, thatâd probably be as close to all the guitar I need in my life as possible.
Last year, I was thinking of hunting down a used 7-string natural Boden, but ended up getting a relatively cheap used 7-string headless from an unknown luthier - after reminding myself a couple of dozen times that Iâm not really a guitarist, and should probably rather save up in a really good âkeeper for lifeâ type bass insteadâŠ

Would like a better spot for my mixer and Kemper but this works for now.

doesnât bother me one bitâi found myself naturally placing my thumb on the flat faces in any position very quickly, and i never felt like it was impeding my existing motions. that said, however, playing extended range bass in the past might have given me a tolerance for strange profiles ahead of time.

Glad my studio space quite literally fits the description:
On the table:
Going to have to figure out how to make some space once I get my shield + grid. Been thinking of commissioning Coda Handmade to make a custom stand to fit some or all of the gear, but Iâm betting Iâll also have to upgrade to a larger surface. Not a bad problem to have

Is there a bass vi in that pile of strings?
Thatâs the VM baritone Jazzmaster, though they sometimes get confused for one another.

Wow! A Propellerhead Balance! Iâm surprised they still work. It looks like youâre not using it with Reason anymore though. I never got a Balance but still use Reason as my DAW

I have never seen another one in the wild haha. Bought it years back and have no reason (pun not intended) to upgrade as of yet. Iâm using it with Logic (never been a Reason user) but itâs a great and quite underrated interface.

What are those stands that the Deluge, Zoia and Tracker are on? I was looking for lipped stands exactly like that before and couldnât find any.
Funny thing, I first saw these stands on Perfect Circuit and didnât buy because the price was a bit steep. But I kept coming back to them because the dimensions were perfect for my needs. When I went to their website I realized the guy lived in Michigan. Then when I reached out with a couple questions, learned he lived maybe 5 minutes from me. I ended up buying direct and meeting him locally to pick them up. They are super heavy duty and I love them.

Wow, thatâs certainly more expensive than I expected and quite a coincidence. I guess it might be one of those very specific products that seems expensive but works better than any of the cheaper options. Thanks for the link
You can easily mod an Ikea VIVALLA, ISBERGET or BRĂDA if they donât exactly match your fit.
Traveling for work setup.

Thanks for reminding me I need to get a Reface multiple Refaces.

For Refaces CP is my number one recommendation - amazingly expressive and great sounds (the clav and toy piano are super useable at their high-low extremes - tubular bells anyone?). CS is number two for me, capable of a very large range of sounds, nothing really like it (in terms of ease of editing, built in fx, polyphony, built in keyboard, etc) in the price range right now.

The CS is also a great controller for Omnisphere with the built in hardware profile. So immediate to browse a randomized list of patches with a down arrow, and then tweak with a simplified set of controls. I generally only mess with the envelopes, filter, and maybe the oscillators a bit anyways and doing it without a mouse is so satisfying.
