I managed to resist the Black Friday deal at PCA, but ordered a TTSH kit from Synthcube. The fact that it hasn’t even shipped, and now @mattlowery’s posts make me doubt my decision.:sob:

I do kinda think that the matriarch and the perfourmer do very similar stuff (raw, slightly unstable, quad oscillator synths), so if you’re enjoying the matriarch more, maybe it does make sense to let it lie fallow for a while.

I do think they sound very different with the filters open (and especially with the resonance up). the moog has a very earnest, bright, positive sound while the perfourmer is very somber, serious, and a little punchy, but they definitely have cross over.

mostly I just wish the perfourmer had slightly more patching options (just cv filter cutoff control would be amazing).

I have one, and I like it a lot. I mostly use it as 4 monosynths as other folks have said, or with the cycling voice option, which is sweet. I am still struggling to figure out how the various timing options work tbh… and how the LFOs interact with each other etc, but I probably just need to read the manual again.

I can’t see myself ever getting rid of it, as the oscillators sound so ‘sweet’. They definitely have a particular, special sound to them.

FYI, I reached out to Vermona about adding gates/cv to my midi only perFOURmer, and the kit is about $175 euro after shipping. Installation looks super easy.
