If your name isnā€™t on the list and you did indeed submit samples, please forgive my lack of organisation and drop me a PM, Iā€™ll get it sorted.

I did request that all samples would be copyright free, but there are some field recordings of musicians amongst these. Not a problem, but as the plan is to attempt a QRATES with this, all samples need to be clear, so please be sensible with how you use the tools youā€™ve been given. I donā€™t want anyone getting in trouble over copyrights. Itā€™s your responsibility how you choose to compose your tracks.

As always, you may ONLY use the samples to construct your track, but feel free to deconstruct them in any way you see fit. All effects, granular, stretching etc is permitted. Please submit a high quality wav via a dropbox style service to me at ihavecombedtehnsbeardwithmyteeth@awonderfulkindofimpossible.co.uk or via PM on this here forum. Please include your artist name and your track name and keep it clear which is which.

Someone always asks about track length, and I hate imposing a limit, but if everyone elseā€™s track is under 5 minutes, and you submit a 20minute drone, itā€™d better be fucking amazing. Try to keep it short-ish, peeps, compilations work out better that way.

Nice. And is that sample recorded live; or is the polyphony multi tracked? I had the equivalent of a make noise system concrete for a few months but could not gel with it.

Apparently, I missed the copyright-free requirement and my samplesā€™ copyright status is unclear (one copyleft, other unknown). I can send some original sounds instead, if you guys are okay with that.

I think itā€™s pretty obvious which ones arenā€™t clear, if youā€™re using them, just stick them in a granulator or something?

if we go vinyl route it looks like baseline price could be around 1100 (not sure how shipping works if it goes to individuals who buy or if all copies go to one person who then sends them out) with 15 people we are still looking at under 100 bucks a person.

Iā€™m not made of money but for the opportunity to have some vinyl with myself on it not to mention a compilation from this awesome community which never disappoints this seems a paltry sum

I donā€™t really want to buy and distribute vinyl, but with qrates, you just upload it, if it sells great, if not, no worries.

oh and re: peopleā€™s tracks who didnā€™t send in samples, I donā€™t see a problem so long as theyā€™re really good and part of the community.

Hey Friends, Iā€™m going through the worst year of my life right now(in all seriousness, some things have happened(divorce, car accident, lost employment opps and contacts and friends,ā€¦ the list goes onā€¦ shit keeps falling), and the resultant depression has killed my IQ and will to make art/musicā€¦ iā€™ve tried continually recently, thought it might help to get me going again, but just canā€™t seem to get my brain workin). Sorry i canā€™t do anything right now(all i do is hike for miles in the woods to the point of exhaustion everyday to keep me sane). If ever I do return to full youā€™ll see me most often on this account(RABID). Thanks for the consideration, thoughā€¦ made me feel loved and I did need that, you canā€™t imagine how appreciative I was to find just that little tag/mention in my email todayā€¦ even though i still canā€™t function/join-inā€¦ anywaysā€¦ :love_letter:
