This is one of my favorite synth albums this year:
just dipping into this… so far so good!
just found out about these people yesterday. loving it so far.
I’ve been listening to (and watching) a lot more performance videos on YouTube lately. To collate some of that activity, I created this “Ambient Performances” playlist, which I plan on adding to regularly. Lots of good stuff in there, from Lesley Flanigan, Andreas Tilliander, Robert Henke, Steve Roden, and many others. 21 tracks so far, and only Marcus Fischer and Jon Hassell are in there twice.
I’m pretty sure I found out about them here, but been really digging Dawn of Midi:
thats perfection
i’m generally partial to trios but the music wouldve won me over if the arrangement hadnt
thanks for this! i’m now half way watching the list and loving all the performances sp far!
Thanks. Glad you’re enjoying. I’m being pretty picky — just stuff I really enjoy listening to, being pretty careful about not too broad a definition of “ambient,” focusing on work where on screen the correlation is pretty clear between what you see and what you hear, and sticking to fairly short pieces (under 15 minutes, generally).
probably the wrong topic
(and I wish I could embed this)
he is completely enthralling
so many great points
.
also perfect perfect collab on this one
Wonderful time to be alive
I regularly return to this live recording of Messiaen’s Turangalila and now it’s that time again ;-). Great performance of Great Britain’s National Youth Orchestra (!!) with Pierre Laurent Aimard, Cynthia Millar and Andrew Davis …
this is an important part of music history
personally

this one-shot live floating points vid kinda blew my mind. literally paused it during light flashes to see what buchla modules are on there. also great use of volca beats.
