Wonderfull labels, both Another Timbre and elsewhere.

Another Timbre has many releases for me to explore without some recommendations, but since elsewhere has few, i’ve listened to all of them.

That Frey recommendation remminds me of Cristian Alvear, which i saw play last friday night, with a japanese percursionist.
I fisrt got to know Alvear’s guitar playing in a release on mappa editions.

When i get home, with good internet i will listen to those recomendations.

Great to find another GBV fan here!

Ditto! I will always and forever have a soft spot for Bobby Pollard.

Randomly found this

Been listening it for 2 weeks now almost every night in bed.

Don’t know anything about the composer and haven’t got into any other recordings by him…

This is pure magic

there’s a two-disc set of solo guitar pieces (played by Cristián Alvear) by Jürg Frey, on the AT label. it’s called guitarist, alone

if i could recommend some favorites on AT:

Horsky Park
Lost Daylight
ffansïon | fancies
Beauty and Industry
Ist gefallen in den Schnee
Chamber works 1992 - 2009 (by Laurence Crane, played by Apartment House)

Erstwhile, Potlatch, and Cathnor are three other labels of note, each with varied and lengthy (Erstwhile, especially) catalogs - leaning more towards noise (reductive) and improvised (often in the spirit of AMM) sound art / collage -type stuff. Potlatch releases are consistently good.

Abby’s great. Unfortunately I always find out that she’s performing just slightly too late to be able to attend.
