nice to see some love for “still lives” here

i published the record so i’m surely biased, but i think it may be my favorite of hers- the two hallow ground ones are fantastic too though. and her duo with her partner niko-matti is really special as well:

Instrumental cover album of the Shaggs. Very charming and ends up sounding like something out of the Canterbury scene:

Been hearing about fred’s stuff, but hadn’t had the chance to check him out yet. Really loved this set, and loving the more intimate live stuff he’s got on Youtube as well

The soundtrack for this 70s mini-doc on one of Fujitsu’s semiconductor plants is…
Sinister. Very sinister.

I recently discovered Robert Glasper and his phenomenal cover/mashup of Radiohead’s “Everything In Its Right Place” and Herbie Hancock’s “Maiden Voyage”. So good.

Reminded to relisten by news of a 4k rerelease of this astonishing masterpiece of cinema (that’s alas a little difficult to universally recommend due to some sexual assault content) https://twitter.com/catsuka/status/1555265218443448320

And Beth’s other band, Slowlight.

She has an absolutely captivating voice. Recomended if you like Midwest or DC emo of the 90s.

17 seconds, Eric’s Trip meets Black Sabbath with drum machines. Second track sounds like Duster covering “Music for the Masses” era Depeche Mode…

I can’t believe Mark died on stage 23 years ago. I was younger than he was then, and I’m older than he ever got to be now.
