Boston Public Library’s record collection is available for free listening. Tons of jazz, folk musics from around the world, some silly stuff but a lot of treats too.

Thanks very much for sharing that as there are some brilliant cover sleeve designs in that collection as well.

A friend described this new, second album by CS + Kreme as a puzzle and I agree. In the best way. My brain wants to link it to 80s “post-industrial” stuff (most famously Coil) but not because it sounds of that time. I’m not sure if I like it as much as Snoopy yet, but it’s really good to spend time with!

PS. CS is a sibling of Jonnine who fronts HTRK. He played on her solo release. Just adding that in if there are HTRK fans out there.

Gorgeous soundtrack by Michiel De Maische for the book, The Discomfort of Evening:

Also have been loving this jazz album from Uusi Aika:

Lovely Eno/Sakamoto-esque ambient. Sometimes the YT algo kicks out some treasures.

EDIT: this was apparently hidden due to spam/advertisement. Not sure why, there wasn’t much info given. Perhaps it was the two vertical images? Do lmk if i did something wrong here.

Psychedelic garage

EDIT:

This list is curated by Matthew Halsall, a very cool British trumpeter who I’ve discovered in the past year. I love his own music, so it’s great to be able to hear what he’s digging…

Have a peaceful weekend :pray:t2:

I’m loving palm’s new album - a pretty lovely balance of noise, melody, and groove

They’re on tour and I caught them live last night and their show is stupendous right now.

GBV! Love their old stuff particularly (og lineup)

I love the OG stuff too. It’s interesting that they managed to retain a lot of their psych vibes despite having access to better studios…

Saw GBV a few months ago with a friend who had never heard of them before. Her takeaways were that she assumed they were British, they managed to be really loud without being too loud, and that they just kept going. Fairly accurate first impression I’d say.
