spotify wrapped just seems like 100% spam to me, sorry. I mute the phrase and hashtag on Twitter and never see it… So its jarring to see it here of all places.

Jehovakill was an instant classic that still sounds amazing.

Ah, I see. That’s fair, I guess. It’s a pretty accurate indicator of what I’ve been listening to for me, so figured I may as well post it here.
I was never aware of Peak Oil until recently when bandcamp did a spotlight on the label. I’ve been really digging their catalog. It satisfies my interest in detailed, glitchy electronic music, which I tend to gravitate towards in the chillier months. These artists stand out to me the most:

Did you notice how no one else does? There was nothing in your post I could listen to - it seemed like some personal revelation about your own listening stats. For me it would be like sorting my Swinsian library by the number of plays & sharing a screenshot, which is meaningless to others. (I don’t mean to be an old grump - I’ll update this with the perfect meme when I refind it… But also please do share what you are listening to.)

I mean it as far as I see it conveys “I’ve been listening to boards of canada, brian eno, eluvium, nils frahm, and john hopkins lately, particularly these songs”, but I won’t post spotify wrapped in the future, I sort of see your point.

“Strong like iron”
One of my all-time favourites!
One of my parents’ good old friends was one of the people who sort of “brought” reggae to our country (they had a mail order record shop, radio programme, published a zine, etc.). As a result, even though I was brought up in a fairly standard middle class family in the countryside, my parents’ record shelf also had some weird vinyl records with all black sleeves and colorful “Island” labels inside, that sounded really, really interesting as a little kid, with all these jungle noises, echoes, heavy bass…
I was something like 20 or 25 when I realised the one I was always asking to hear as a kid was Super Ape and the song I loved most was Dread Lion
(I think the other favourite album was Blackheart Man by Bunny Wailer)

Public service announcement that the Bomberman Hero OST is an amazing album
Bunch of breakbeat drums, cozy sine wave melodies and the album totally stands on its own, I would have definately listened to it even if it wasn’t remotely connected to Bomberman.
Favorite track is Milky

The Durutti Column - “Obey the Time”

I think it was reading some old interview with Bibio that led me to discover Marcos Valle. This album “Previsao Do Tempo” is really cool. Psychedelic soul meets Tropicalia/Bossanova with some really nice early synth work (mini-moog + arp I think). The backing band on this record became the band Azymuth which I’m looking forward to exploring.

Wow, I didn’t know that! Even though I’ve listened Marcos Valle a lot at some point and am a huge fan of Azymuth - also heard them live more than a decade ago after going crazy about their recorded output, and it was a pretty mind-blowing experience.
They actually have most of their interesting discography in BC: Music | Azymuth … The description for their demos album says they were the session band for artists like Jorge Ben and Marcos Valle, just didn’t notice it for some reason.

Speaking of Azymuth: this remix of them, while almost nothing like the original, is an absolutely gorgeous piece of house music

Can - Live at Soest (Rockpalast) 1970
Not bad sound, as bootlegs go.
Always good to hear Damo with this iteration of the band.
