CTM’s “Babygirl” album, especially “Scorpio,” is really hitting the tender mumble gut-punch spot this week:

New Sleeparchive
I don’t get it how Sleeparchive always tickles me the right way… there are a few techno producers like that and it’s a wonderful thing

I think this might just be filtered noise with a subtle field recording low in the mix, but it does sound exactly like my mental-image-sound of what every vast subterranean artificial space sounds like. Maybe it’s real?

Name the other ones! Stanislav Tolkachev is on that list, for me.
PS huge respect for your UAN and other stuff.

Sadly probably not real if there is no mention of location, recording method etc… I’ve looked at a few similar 10 hour vids as waveform and often you can find the loop if you look at the spectral plot.

I expect your correct, seen lots of “waterfall” videos that are just colored noise with silent video of a waterfall

Revisiting Four Tet’s 2010 album “There Is Love In You” and the intervening 12 years (seems forever yet as fresh as yesterday) have been remarkably gentle with it.
“Angel Echoes” is as spine-tinglingly gorgeous as I remember.

It’s still truly very good. I gave Love Cry a spin just the other week.
Currently I’m listening a lot to the new Beach House album. Once Twice Melody - YouTube

Love this piece! Fun fact: it was originally intended for Koyaanisqatsi.

As a longtime fan, I finally picked up a copy of Brian Eno’s new album FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE and in spite of my initial reservations I have to say I’m enjoying it immensely.
I will say that the album works far better as just that: an album, rather than listening to the tracks in isolation. The pre-releases ‘singles’ didn’t really fill me with much enthusiasm and I felt like they fell into similar terrain of Eno’s dreary vocal intoning on the underwhelming The Ship or his awkward collaborations with Karl Hyde a few years back. But listening to this new album in its entirety makes me ponder whether it’s the best thing he’s done this century. As much as I admired LUX and the Reflection app, there’s a dimension and warmth to this album - along with his excellent vocals - which make this one truly memorable.

I was cautious about it when I found out that it had a lot of vocal tracks - I’ve found some of his older vocal excursions challenging to listen to - but FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE just hits a sweet spot, somehow.
One of my favourite (and most played) albums of 2022!

Also a longtime fan, and also somewhat underwhelmed by some of the more recent recordings…
I’ve only listened to it once but was surprised by how much I liked it…
It’s a nice reminder that getting older isn’t an impediment to doing great work

I need to revisit it. I either love or don’t-but-find-it-exceptionally-interesting most of Eno’s work. The early “song” albums and the first of his ambient albums are among my favorite recordings in the world. The new one just felt so familiar and easy. It’s hard to adjust my expectations now that “unlike what you’ve heard before” is no longer a big part of what he’s about. But my spouse really likes it, and the other day I found myself enjoying one of the tracks when it appeared via a playlist. Maybe time to let my expectations down and listen to it for what it is.

This is how I feel about current eno as well. It’s a nice thing to listen too, but it isn’t as foundational (to me) as his earlier stuff.
