Even with WW, I was eyeing Metropolis for a while. Then there was Teletype. I do realize that the addition of an MP and TT to the WW would be awesome.

Would a Metropolis be a nice complement at all, for clock and performance, in addition to the WW? There are some workarounds for a reset on WW, I guess. Just trying to get to grips with wether the complexities of event generation in TT outweighs the fun of knobs and sliders.

How much of Teletypeā€™s allure lies in the retro fun of command lines, and how practical is it? Coming from a non-coding background, Iā€™d like to understand how practical TT is. Many thanks.

Would it ever be possible to multiply or divide the external clock coming into the WW and have independent tempos on the trigger outputs?

oh my do i love the idea of implementation of clock mult/divide (and potential slew on cv outs). those would be huge, and would nudge into great usability while i think keeping sequencer intuitiveness intact.

i did work on clock div/mult but wasnā€™t able to implement it to my satisfaction. slew would be cool, but it doesnā€™t support it right now (you could use one of the gate outputs and an external slew limiter as a workaround).

teletype/ww donā€™t have a remote op for clocking, but you could just use BPM op on teletype to set the metro script rate, then use one of the trigger outputs on teletype to clock ww via its external clock input.

On reflectionā€¦ itā€™s such a shame to loose a precious trig out on the TT for simple clocking. WWā€™s clock out serving as a master clock on behalf of TT would just be ideal. Is this feasible do you think?

You could wrap it the other way. Use WW as master clock (now you have a dedicated knob!) and send it to a trigger input on TT. Yes, you sacrifice a trigger input on TT, but it means you get to use TTā€™s metro independently of the WW clock.

I thought about that, however for my purposes I would loose the ability to set a precise bpm.
Perhaps Iā€™m alone in thinking this would be incredibly useful.

Another up shot of it being a remote op, IF the aforementioned clock div/mult was also able to be implemented, you would be able to clock WW remotely AND use WWā€™s clock out in a highly performative manner. This seems brilliant to me.

yeah, having a ww clock op would be useful either way. i might add more remote commands for all of the trilogy modules and ansible at some point in the future and if that happens iā€™ll add this as well. probably not with clock div/mult though.

When the WW (v1.5.0) is in Series Mode, is it possible to fully reset the mode back to the very first step?

The docs say to hold ALT + leftmost column which does cut to the top position, but it waits until the last sequence has been fully played out. I want the next clock tick to start at position 1 of the first series.

Same question as @AtomStates. I have a few patterns stored in series on a White Whale that I like to sync with a with a sequence on Ansible running Kria, and a TT using a tracker (everything is connected via i2c). I usually sync on TT with Sync 0; WW.Sync 0; Kr.Res 0 0, but I get weird results on the White Whale. Kria and TT patterns sync up just fine with this. But White Whale is usually out of phase with TT and Kria. I have to exit series mode, run the sync script again, and time my button pressing right while I re-enter Series mode to get things to sync correctly. If it donā€™t time it perfectly while I get back into Series mode, the sequence on White Whale plays a few steps, then restarts at the beginning of the sequence causing it to be out of phase again. If that happens, I exit Series mode and try again. Is there a feature Iā€™m overlooking in Series mode?

Hey people, iā€™m totally a newb about Monome worldā€¦ i found a WW for sale and i would like to buy it, but the version is 1.2 and i think i would have to update it in case iā€™ll decide to buy it, which is the upgrading procedure for WW and where can i found the firmware?

So at the end I bought a WW few days ago, while Iā€™m waiting to Ansible to be available again, I still have to update it to 1.5 tho and even a Grid has landed at my door yesterdayā€¦
But seems WW canā€™t power it on, when I plug the Grid into WW only few lights start to move (upper left) and then they come down and nothing more, is that normal? The same happens if I plug it on my Mac book pro.

(Iā€™ve a couple of Intellijel case tps80w power, which has 1500a on 5v)

UPDATE: aaaand with the same mood of my mother when she go on Facebook and she donā€™t know what to do, iā€™ve been able to update the WW firmware and Grid seems to works now, at least the leds and the playhead started to work! Letā€™s make some noise now ā€¦
