I use the non push Arc 4 2nd gen. Semi-recently acquired it. My fav’s are Stretta’s EDW which is so versatile, also love the Chocolate Grinder and The Party Van for CD skipping stuff. There’s so much to each one, in all honesty, in 5 months I’ve only scratched the surface and haven’t even tried a quarter of the apps yet. I love my arc.

I’ve got an Arc 4 2nd gen … mostly using it with my own patches which are custom made for performances. I edited tml some time ago to replace button presses with a quick turn of the knob. It’s not the same but works quite well once you get the hang of it ;-). Did a M4L Arc2MIDI device some time ago which I use a lot too.

Thanks for the post. I visited your website and saw that I am following you on soundcloud since a while! Absolutely fantastic work!

I use my Non Push Button Arc 2 for Electric Dharma Wheels exclusively. I also dropped it and now it’s cracked and I’m sad. Still dharma wheels like a champ though.

I am using the arc 2 to control four tracks when I play live. Each track is assigned to two rows of the grid. When I touch either of those grid rows to affect the track in some way, the arc shows master volume and one other parameter for that track.

Modes like this are usually not my favorite design choice. But in this case it’s a very simple set of choices. And if there is only one mode, why have control decoupled from feedback anyway? Until I have an arc 8 I’m happy with this setup.

My app is some C++ code that keeps changing every performance. If I come up with something more generally useful I’ll share it.
