@Bengt @fellowfinch The template I used in the video I just threw together quickly and didn’t save. I have an older, more detailed template which I’m attaching below. I tried to explain the mapping in this doc, if you have any questions lmk!

Have been trying out WRMS lately, got a nice little patch on the go from my modular and set up a midi controller template. Thought I’d record a jam, but beforehand, went to update WRMS to get the display of vol sorted.

error: load fail!!

I’m on the latest Norns update, have restarted etc. Am I missing an engine or another install somewhere?

Happy to troubleshoot, this is the first script I’ve had fail so not entirely sure where to look. Thanks!

Edit: ORGNWRMS runs OK though.

we just popped an orientation guide into the docs! maiden | monome/docs

tl;dr: the error text printed to matron or a LOG export is the best way to identify the trouble

looks like your download of the bundled copy of nest might be incomplete, or perhaps there’s something else andrew can better identify? either way, try deleting the wrms, orgn + orgnwrms folders from code and reinstalling them, as that’s helped with other cases of MISSING INCLUDE errors in the wiggle suite : orgnwrms (v2) - #33 by MentalSandal

i haven’t done a formal test for this (+ not familiar w/ maiden codebase) but it sounds like this is happening for everybody because when maiden runs the update command it doesn’t run a command like git submodule update --recursive after running git pull.

anywho i’ll put some extra messaging in all the places asking ppl to remove & reinstall rather than update - - i think i’m one of very few ppl using git submodules (they save my life in dev when it comes to coming up with different libraries for myself & syncing changes between projects)

(ed: when i have some time i could just dump my submodules to folders, if that would help clear out some support hassle)

Hi again Peter! Didn’t have the time to try this out until tonight. Sorry for a stupid question but I haven’t used the learn function in combination with TouchOSC before. How do I get Norns to react to the incoming messages? I press LEARN, it says LEARNING, I touch a slider and… nothing happens. I can see TouchOSC sending information, and I think I have the connection (IP & ports) properly set up. What am I missing? Thanks!

Do you have the touchOSC bridge application downloaded? There are probably other ways to do this, but what I do is make a midi track in Ableton with the in set to touchOSC bridge and the out set to the midi interface I have connected to Norns. Arm that track, and then you should be able to communicate between the two.

This is a really awesome script. I’ve been having some intermittent trouble with it though on my Norns shield. Sometimes it seems it just doesn’t record the audio coming into it. Today this happened and in a “press every button” frenzy to try and get it to work, I turned off anti aliasing and finally got some audio coming out.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I feel like I have a good understanding of the script on a basic level but it’s possible it’s user error. Thanks if anyone has any advice
