i haven’t done a formal test for this (+ not familiar w/ maiden codebase) but it sounds like this is happening for everybody because when maiden runs the update command it doesn’t run a command like git submodule update --recursive after running git pull.

anywho i’ll put some extra messaging in all the places asking ppl to remove & reinstall rather than update - - i think i’m one of very few ppl using git submodules (they save my life in dev when it comes to coming up with different libraries for myself & syncing changes between projects)

(ed: when i have some time i could just dump my submodules to folders, if that would help clear out some support hassle)
