@Justmat Yup, GitHub did it.

As somebody joining the shnth party like six years late, the water’s still warm I swear  Very fun and playable device, would love for that thread to be more active!

And to keep things on-topic, I just made my first wrms recording. I have no idea what I’m doing yet but it sounded great. Time to hit the manual I think

I cannot find the file to download the script ! anyone can help me?

It’s in the maiden community library, way down at the bottom. You might have to refresh the catalog get it to show up.

thanks ! I think I still have to learn how to find it but I’ll do my best!

@andrew just wanted to show some love and say wrms is still one of my favourite norns scripts. i always find myself going back to it with fruitful surprises. was wondering if you’ve ever considered implementing ms into the buffers?

thanks ! might need an explainer on that one

Enjoying wrms a lot too! :bug:

would this work with midi keyboard rather than grid?

nope, that’d just need a few lines of code copied in from molly the polly - you could use that script as a template for including wrms externally

i’m wondering, if by say holding down k1 and using either e2 or e3, that you could access a finer/smaller window to scrub through in the wrm1 buffer by going into milliseconds.

feel like you could get into some interesting granular territory this way.

ah ! yea that’s a great idea - it’s crossed my mind before, thanks for the reminder. the cheat codes delay does great things with this.

yeah no problem, thought i’d mention it and see what you thought…
agreed cc delay is incredible for adding textures to things

I’m not sure if this is more just me learning how to use the norns, but when I run this script, I’m only hearing my dry signal. I can get the worms to wiggle and such, but it doesn’t seem like I can actually hear their output.

I’m 90% sure I’m just doing something wrong, but any help would be appreciated.

try “cut” on the mix screen

enjoy your wrming !

That wasn’t it for some reason. I maxed out cut on the mix screen, got some worms wriggling, then went back to the mix screen and there wasn’t any activity in the cut fader, and when I turned the input down it was definitely silent.

I’ll keep poking around, but if you think of anything else, I’ll try it. Thanks!

Edit: I found it, I hadn’t checked the softcut settings in parameters, everything was turned down to -inf.

Thanks for the help though, definitely sent me in the right direction!

Hacked together a remix of FM7 + wrms this morning. Here’s a small improvisation…

Grid acts as a keyboard a la Earthsea, KEY1 toggles between FM7 and wrms interface. Missing a few things from Earthsea still (pattern recorder, LED response)…

lovely!

so wrms takes fm7 as input instead of ext audio? or both?

I think it should take both depending on PARAMS => EDIT => SOFTCUT levels!

You can specify adc (ext audio), engine (fm7), and tape input levels to Softcut (wrms) on that page.

Edit: Ok I really like FM7 through wrms lol… might try to flesh out this script with a more full Earthsea type keyboard interaction for Grid.
