Starting a thread for the Nerdseq sequencer module proper, since I didn’t see a general purpose thread for it.
I’m new to the device, and I have a rather specific question that I’m hoping someone can help me with:
I believe the purpose of its recording functionality is to take live input, and get it into the grid. However, I don’t know if it is meant to live record along with the moving playhead, or simply fill notes into the cell where the cursor is (the one moved by the arrow keys). I’ve only ever managed to do the latter.
So, the question is: can the Nerdseq’s recording feature record values in-time with the moving play head? If so, how do I set it up?
OK, I got recording following the playhead working with the CV inputs via “Input 1 Record” configuration in the record menu. Nothing with the word “LIVE” appears to be what I want in that menu.
Can I also make the USB keyboard’s keys (through the video expander) the source of the recording? I think the keyboard data is passed over the MIDI expander cable to the Nerdseq, so I was sorta hoping configuring recording for MIDI input would do it, but so far no luck.

Pasting what I learned the Nerdseq forum in case anyone else has the question
It doesn’t work like the midi input actually. For now you can play live or step input notes (like it will fill in the note on the spot where you are in the pattern screen).
So currently no way to have the keyboard input follow the play head during recording?
Not right now. But it is on the list to be added for the upcoming release.
