Do you have any default script loading up on Crow when rebooting? I have issues with this also with it overriding the initialisation especially when linked to JF. Teletype is a leader. Crow can be a leader or a follower so wondering if there is a conflict there between Teletype and Crow.

goodness @mlogger you shouldn’t have to do all that! for me it is: plug usb into crow and launch yggdrasil. then 1 clade;crow. it defaults to output pair 1/2 as well as initializing and clearing crow on boot. since the init stuff happens on boot it shouldn’t matter what state crow is in - so long as it is on and connected.

(yes, saving more things is coming. need to figure out more of the architecture first.)

@leolodreamland i’m reading cheat codes and it is doing the same thing as me (https://github.com/dndrks/cheat_codes/blob/08b7affe11d8cd615915d1460b9037e9b8550682/cheat_codes.lua#L547-L559) initializing and clearing. i just searched orca and less concepts but didn’t see any references to crow in the code. how are you using those?

Just standard less concepts in settings menu can choose one or two crow outs OR crow plus jf - I did edit my script for shorter triggers so I know it’s past halfway search crow.output.

In orca it’s the @TanSaturn branch that also supports W/synth that they filched from just-play-with -you should totally do that too- I would love W/synth support in Yggdrasil. I would cream.

just wanted to drop in and say how stoked I am about the existence and development of this! it’s what pushed me over the edge to finally get around and get a norns. been having a lot of fun learning and tracking all day! been missing trackers in my life ever since live and then modular took over my all my sequencing duties. this feels like being back home… in a weird but amazing way. looking forward to the updated arrow keys navigation : )

the arrow keys are working in the editor view and it feels really natural. i hope to have the editor released in the next few days. so many edge cases to account for!

Here’s a quick crow test - I can see now by running 2 or 3 columns to the same Crow paired output being very similar to the alt note feature of Awake when jumping around cells :grinning: Playing with clock speeds on separate columns is also super fun. This is just 1 mangrove. The octave shifting / transposing of columns would be very useful on an encoder assigned command.

  • When the buffer is empty, pressing enter activates the editor.
  • Pressing esc aborts.
  • ← and → move the text cursor.
  • tab and tab + shift cycle through the attributes.
  • ↑ and ↓ also cycle through the attributes.
  • ctrl + arrows aborts and moves to adjacent slot.
  • Pressing enter at any time commits a valid form.
  • Pressing enter will do nothing to an invalid form.
  • Entries are validated in real-time. Invalid submissions are not allowed.
  • Empty notes and values are valid - it is the same as deleting.
  • YGG and MIDI values update each other.
  • Spacebar is disabled when the editor is open.
  • E1 aborts current edits and selects next not empty slot.
  • E2 and E3 still pan X and Y as normal.

Yes it’s working - I just have to stick to setting / starting up in the right sequence.

I’ve not tried JF yet, is it setup to work using clade;crow? JF on? Would it also be possible to add Geode mode? as well as synth mode option? I’ve not seen any script using Geode mode for making rhythmic stuff and think it would work well in a tracker.

I’m loving the new editor? Are you planning to add other slot-specific things to it? I’m thinking for eg. about things that change the playback (random, reverse)

Also, a question: there’s no way to save everything right now, is there?

yep!! more fields are coming. i’m so happy you’re enjoying it.

yea no saving everything yet, just individual track melodies. i know it sucks and limits how deep people will want to go right now. there’s some deep architectural stuff still being worked on that needs to be sorted out first. in the next couple weeks saving will be a thing. :slight_smile: :floppy_disk:
