This is great, thanks for making it!

Thanks - & thanks for watching!

great workflow, thanks for making it (+ make more!!). really makes me wish i had the disciple to correctly organize my several years of stems… such an overwhelming task.

Ha - honestly, I know EXACTLY how you feel, except I didn’t even get as far as making stems! I’ve got 5+ years worth of unfinished/unreleased Ableton tracks that I’m slowly working my through (when I’m not getting distracted by iOS apps

Thanks for watching the video - I’m working on a series, with the next one showing the power of in-app resampling with Koala. I can’t say enough good things about that app!

I made another video. This stuff is time-consuming but suprisingly it also seems apparently quite addictive. I don’t imagine I’m going to have the time to do masses of them (and certainly not one every couple of days) but I had some time yesterday so made a follow-up to the first one.

Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!

EDIT: the new update is now live - those 8 new effects are now available!!

I use this to transfer audio files from SD (mixpre 6) to iPad. It’s wireless, battery powered and works wo/ internet connection. It xfers 45 minute recordings in 3-4 minutes.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks for your killer Koala videos, really inspired - been using it since launch and I learned a lot, especially from your workflow. Going to try something more structured than my crazy experiments!

Ah, thank you - that’s absolutely fantastic to hear! The third one in the series is just rendering now. Marek released an update which adds the 8 new FX that were in the beta version yesterday so I wanted to do a quick video to show those plus a couple of other techniques I use to get the most out of the app. I think I’ve got a couple more videos worth of tricks and techniques to demonstrate which I’ll aim to get recorded over the next few days and then I intend to do a series of beatmaking videos which are not so much tutorials as basically beatmaking sessions (which I may or may not talk over - I’ve not decided yet).

Also - I want to hear your crazy experiments! Don’t get too structured

To demonstrate the new FX, I made a new video earlier:

It also shows some techniques I use to re-resample (recording from Koala using performance effects and then recording the results back into Koala) as well the trick to get around wanting to have swing to your beats whilst also quantizing them

Can’t wait to check this out; I grabbed the new update yesterday - the new fx are an embarrassment of riches haha

They really are! I beta tested them but Marek tweaked them a fair bit for the release version and they’re even better than the ones I had become used to!

Great tutorials, thanks! :+1:t2:

I keep ask myself if Koala coupled with a midi controller (that work without complicated setup) could be my go to sampler

Do you use any specific controller?

Thanks!

No, I don’t use a controller with it at all, but I have a small arsenal of them I could try it with. Could be fun to try them all and see how they get on.

Speaking of controllers:

This just came out which allows you to change your configuration settings on Roli Blocks from your iOS device (rather than having to plug them into your computer).

Is anyone using a Roli Block with iOS? I have a Lightpad Block M and found it really impressive when I first got it but I haven’t actually incorporated it into my setup at all - I just load up Noise and play around for a bit when the mood takes me (rarely, if I’m completely honest).

I’d be really interested to know if (and how) anyone is using them in a more productive fashion.

+100 to this. I’d really like to use this both with iOS and Norns, keep us posted on your progress and thank you.

This seems to have been out since January, unless I’m mistaken, but I only discovered it today. Looks impressive but I’m sure there are many others amongst you who would be more qualified to assess it than I am.

I’m a big fan of generative sequencers.

Just discovered Polyphase. It’s not new, but it’s a lot of fun!

It lacks an octave control, so while looking for a way to deal with that I discovered these tools. The transposer is free.
