Yes, this, but that’s still each track in AUM being a separate audio track, which makes them great for repurposing…

Korg iMS-20 is highly recommend

I’ve been very tempted but my main hardware synth is an MS-20 Mini & although a large part of my motivation in getting the app would be having the sound (or an excellent approximation of it) with me wherever I went, I can’t help but feel like I’m being unfaithful even considering it

It’s great, easy to carry with you and for trying out patch ideas

I’m a huge fan of Koala, too. I’ve only had it a week but have become borderline pushy in my championing of it to friends with iOS devices!

I’ve never heard of KQ Dixie but it’s hard to imagine not wanting a DX7-a-like.

I’m likely to grab Borderlands and Samplr as they seem to be universally lauded but I might delay until I’ve explored Quanta properly.

Interesting to see Multitrack DAW get a mention as it’s a new one to me.

Lots to investigate!

I sold my iPad recently and assumed Borderlands worked on iPhone. Apparently not! Any suggestions for iPhone granular? How is idensity?

Oh yeah probably fairly pointless if you own the real thing

Still tempting though - I love the real thing but it’s not great on a train

I love using my iPad for music. Somehow it seems like the most personal and accessible sketch pad for stuff for me.

I’ve got the latest larger iPad Pro running Gadget, Samplr, Borderlands, Modstep, Beatmaker 3 and a plethora of synths and fx.

As audio I/O I use my Babyface Pro and Zoom H4N, depending on which I have with me. I also use Modstep to sequence my eurorack thru Expert Sleepers FH-2. I have to say I’m very happy Apple decided to use USB-C with two way power with the new Pro.

You got it working as an interface? I didnt think it was class compliant…

I also think the iPad is a nice tool to use for music. I had some issues with my Pad earlier and it really struck me how much I had invested in it. I kind of became a little less enthused about it and the Apple eco system - how dependent I now am on it - but you cant deny how much great great stuff is available.

Other than the apps mentioned I really enjoy ElasticFX. I think the FX are pretty good but the automation / interaction make it a lot of fun. EDIT: And RIBN! 8 complex LFOs.

But another shoutout for Tardigrain and Borderlands.

Can anyone comment on Fieldscaper?

I love FieldScaper, but it’s incredibly dense and seemed almost impenetrable at first (it didn’t help that I was trying to navigate it on an iPhone rather than an iPad). That said, it’s supremely powerful and can do truly fantastic things. I’ve used it most as a loop processor, mangling things that I like the tone of but which seemed a bit dull. It provides me with methods of break down a melodic loop into something which is a more interesting starting point for a track - something I’m likely to do more of as I just purchased Borderlands (thanks to this thread!)

I don’t see it mentioned here so will recommend TC-11.

This thing can go pretty deep; I am a novice.

it’s been mentioned in passing a few times, but i have to put a point in just how useful audioshare is. super boring but i use it more than any other audio app - great place to store audio files received via email, text or airdrop, acts as a sample hub for other apps like borderlands. the device stays on (!!!) while you’re using the app, eliminating any sleep-related playback problems and making it great for live use. in a studio it’s so convenient to get a stem from a session airdropped to my ipad, then immediately perform with that sample in borderlands or samplr.

Has anyone mentioned TOPLAPapp yet? Nutso and so so fun.

Imo the main draw to iDensity now is that you can have single streams as AUv3s. Super useful.

It is. Very handy as such. It just needs a powered hub or the new pro which gives the recorder usb power

Yes! I must have tried it without CCK3. Thanks!

For anyone who needs MIDI I/O too: zoom u24 is great.
