wow that looks a lot like the Akai Force an iPad.
:grinning:

Are you sure you can reverse the audio in AUM? There’s nothing about it in the manual.

Ah true, it’s Invert as in left/right invert

Enso is a nice AUv3 looper that can vary speed and direction and do overdubbing with feedback, etc.

I really like Enso and actually find myself using the iPad version far more often than the desktop version.

I’ll second Enso. You can load up buffers on multiple AUM channels and have full control over start and end points and speed and direction. There’s also some nice fx built in. All controllable via midi.

Oh yeah Enso, forgot about it

there’s no undo/redo in Enso, right?

There is no undo/redo in Enso. You also have to be mindful of how you’re using it if you’re planning on decoupling the playback and record rates/directions or you might find yourself wondering where all of the clicks are coming from.

Has LRC5 has been mentioned here yet?

It’s a free and handy parametric EQ. I often just use AUM’s built in filters/EQ for quick adjustments, but it’s nice to have 5 bands of EQ only taking up one effect slot in AUM for carving stuff out of field recordings in an audio player or whatever.

I have been needing a parametric eq like this – Thank you!!

I keep wishing for an ability to play sound from the net through an auv3 (or iaa at least). I can embed streams in streemur and so on, but it would be rad if there was a mini browser that worked in aum so I could play any old website sound and hit it with effects.

@pleurodesis I believe there is an AUv3 that will play youtube videos that have embedding enabled. Tube AU? I can’t remember the name but there is a thread on the audiobus forums you should read as people were giving the dev feedback there.

Can anyone recommend their favorite audio editor for cutting samples? With audioshare, I’m either not understanding or not gelling well with the workflow.

Although I haven’t tried the recently released iOS version yet, I love the Mac version of TwistedWave.

Right on. I’ll give it a look. Thanks!

The auv3 sampler (works in AUM) that comes with Apematrix is a nice option too to get reverse. It also allows scrubbing with touch (a bit like the Tape & Scratch mode in Samplr).

I really like Hokusai 2, do most of my audio editing with it.

I very much appreciate how this app’s design aesthetic brings me back to the days of a PowerMac running Macintosh 8 or 9

Anyone here using iPad mini for their music? What are your thoughts?

I do. While I haven’t dived deep with music apps on a larger Pad, I believe other people when they say the experience is better. Pros are that it’s extremely portable and unassuming. I like to sit outside at a park or cafe with it. My comfort level there might change with a larger model.
