I’ve used the mini; it’s fine. You have less computing power, so fewer apps open at one time. GeoShred occasionally bogged down if I used a really computing-intensive patch. This was more a con for me than the screen size.

I think the 5 is on par with the current models…

How do you send or receive external clock from you iPad? I have AUM and iRig MIDI 2

Does ENSO have the ability to Sync to a clock on iOS? I couldn’t find anything in the manual about it. Is that something that happens in AUM? In other words, Is it possible to sync Enso to modular by syncing it internally to midi on the ipad and then send that clock out through a midi to cv convertor?

I have never tried to sync ipad with anything external; I have enough trouble syncing apps with each other.

AUM can send midi clock only, but you can use the app “midi link sync” to receive midi clock and send out ableton link sync, which AUM can follow. I believe Audiobus both sends and receives midi clock

Enso syncs to AUM’s transport – you can send out midi clock out from AUM to wherever you need.

I think apeMatrix receives clock…

AUMs Achilles heel.

Link works…

I would go with syncing modular from ipad, with either Audulus or Zmors modular. Zmors has Link, so it can sync with AUM.

I’ve also used AUM metronome output as modular clock once) Can’t recall f it was as predictable and stable as normal clock, but it surely was fun)

I was just thinking of trying this tonight. I’ll give it a shot

Yeah so this totally works, if you send the metronome from AUM into something like the Doepfer A-119 or even Maths, where you can extract a gate, you can reliably feed something that takes a clock like Tempi. I was just looping guitar in Enso, synced perfectly to modular, with sequence in Marbles. I’m pretty stoked. Enso is pretty rad.

Midi clock is what I need. How to do that via iRig MIDI?

So you’d connect the irig usb to your ipad - will need the apple “camera connector kit” adapter to get usb to lightning (get the newer model that also charges the ipad- well worth it and the irig might not work without the power). Plug your midi cable into irig with whatever clock source or destination.

IRig should show up as a midi in/out in AUM or Audiobus. Hope that helps!

Aum now has multi output support.

Bram Bos comes out immediately with this scatter app. I’m looking forward to checking this out with AUM over the weekend.

I am not sure I understand why I need the usb lighting cable too if I have iRig already

I was trying to play tardigrain in AUM but it does not work as expected. I don’t see my user recordings in there nor I have the complete tardigrain menu…help please

Think you have to have tardigrain open first then open in aum in inter-app audio.

Tried that but it doesn’t work

Ah I was thinking of iconnect - if your iRig had a lightning cable then yes you woul not need an additional adapter. But it is midi not audio right?
