csSpectral is not well supported by the dev, AFAIK.

The go-to trio is arguably Moebius Lab (standalone only, but can host external AUv3), apeDelay and sparkle (both have AUv3 and standalone).

Moebius Lab by amazing noises is a great one with: spectral brickwall filter, spectral delay, spectral s&h (‘grip’), spectral reverb (‘blur’), and a spectral decimator.

apesoft apeDelay is primarily a spectral delay + spectral brick wall filter, but it also has spectral decimator, blur, noise gate, granular and freeze capabilities (with limited controls.)

apesoft Sparkle does cross synthesis.

Another more limited but really fun option is the burns audio port of MI Clouds, (called ‘granular’, a part of the free Spectrum bundle). In spectral mode it does spectral stretching.

iOS loopers.
Rather surprisingly, I wasn’t bowled over by Enso.
Any alternative suggestions?
I loved Cranes on norns, but returned 6 months after last session remembering nothing of my last session or the protocols, so I can’t be doing that every 12-18 months… I need to find something on iOS I can use and become familiar with (I can take my iPad with me on the road).

Maybe you’d like L7?

There are really a large number of loopers…

funny both you mention are related to csound.

Any recs for lo-fi fx? I’d like to get something that mimics the effects of sp-x0x units

I got that a while ago but had a load of issues with it, unfortunately. I ended up using Klevgrand Degrader and LoFlyDirt bitcrushing

DAW Cassette and DAW LP are both pretty decent too

FlyTape is similarly good, but the lack of latching is a serious issue for me personally:

ReelBus has a broader range - from more high-end textures through to the lower end of the spectrum:

Time Machine is more akin to something like iZotope’s Vinyl VST:

One of my favourites is the free option, Tape Cassette:

Also, as an alternative for bitcrusing, I really love all the Flora Creative plugins:

Are there any livecoding options for iOS, like Orca?

It’s out.

Samplr and Moebius Lab look fun. I’m going to give them a try. I guess the great thing with AUM is my ‘sampler’ might be a combination of two or more apps inserted into a collection of channels.

I spent about 10 minutes with Drambo this morning and can’t wait to dive in later tonight when I have more time. First impressions were filled with many “oh wow really?” moments. I’m finding more and more apps with a heavy Elektron influence on the sequencing side of things and I can’t say I’m upset about that in any way.

Yeah, just had a blast with Drambo. I’ll have to dive in tonight after I get some work done. The thing that shocked me the most is that it has an Octatrack-style scene fader!

It’s so OT. Not least because I’ll have to rtfm. :upside_down_face: this is what Id always imagined an OT2 would be: OT goes modular + digital sound engine.

Super clean and usable UI. Sound engine is solid. Nice sample pitch/time playback. Not as CPU heavy as id thought. Its nice having all that MIDI capability in one AU too.

TBH, at first glance, I’m impressed by how user friendly Drambo feels, especially given the OT + modular bones. To me, it looks like RTFM for a quality of life boost (e.g. ‘Instant copy / paste a step or a group of steps’ power tip on page 21). But most functions seem quite easy to figure out from the UI + presets alone.

I have the Klevgrands. They don’t sound good to me. YMMV.

Yes. It’s more, like you say, the weeds of the thing, as opposed to just flicking my fingers every which way hoping what I want happens happens. But I (so far) feel they found a nice balance between doing things for you automatically, under the hood, and allowing space to open it up.

I like Degrader and DAW Cassette but they’re not exactly like-for-like substitutes of Decimort and Wavesfactory Cassette, which is what I use as VSTs (hence me having so many different options - I tend to combine a few which ends up getting me most of the way there).

I don’t want to grab this just yet because I don’t understand how I’ll use it, but I’m very interested. I suspect it will be like Mozaic in that others with create presets that finally make it all make sense to me and then I’ll be up and running.
