IMO this is much more accessible than mozaic (I mean for non-coders).

The powerful samplers mean you don’t need to use it like a modular synth. The built-in presets also cover a good amount of synthesis ground out of the box.

The learning curve doesn’t have to be steep if you start out by using it like an elektron-style groovebox with samplers + synth presets, and explore deeper functionalities when you feel ready.

This is brilliant! I got sucked in immediately!

Does that go for people who haven’t used Elektron gear too?

I haven’t used Elektron gear… So yes?

(From what I read, part of what makes Elektron gear hard to learn is the many button combinations, the menu diving, and the lack of knob per function (outside of the M:S and M:C). The clear touch screen UI with Drambo means you don’t need to memorize much, and we effectively get knobs per function throughout.)

Spent about 10 minutes with Drambo. Definitely echoing the RTFM rec.

Thing has crashed a couple times already. Seems to really hate being asked to slice up samples.

@petesasqwax Pete, I’m not one for listening to the hype but I have to say Drambo is something special - and I’ve only been playing around for 10 minutes or so!

No problems here with sample slicing. And I haven’t even got to the manual yet! Ymmv

I know my way around Elektrons pretty well and I’m still going to have to RTFM. So it doesn’t matter whether you have or not. You don’t get around it like an Elektron; it is its own thing (while wearing its influence on its sleeve).

In your case I think you’d be into the (potential) insanity you can do with samples.

And using the sequencer any one of the parameters can be specified per step.

Ah, dammit - I’m going to have to aren’t I?

I just grabbed it. I’m watching the various walkthrough videos now.

Is that the fabled parameter locking that people who tell me I need an Elektron box sing the virtues of? I have to admit: I’ve always been very intrigued

You know it! I bought it and that had that moment of remorse - do I really need another app? Then I started playing and…it is good! Hope you find the same!

The psychological price threshold on apps is something that really has a firm grasp on my mind. Drambo is now, by a factor of 2x, the most expensive app I own. Really hoping I don’t regret it!

But I’m other app news, I’m looking for a good delay. I’ve got Dub and klevgrands kosmonaut, and neither is satisfying me. I’ve probably been spoiled by Valhalla Delay on my laptop, but any good tape+digital options out there that you’d recommend?

K7D all day, every day. Phenomenal sound, few controls but combined in a way that makes it super versatile, clean ui and midi everything.

Yup. And combined with a modular… :zap:

Yeah, K7D is brilliant

Modley is powerful and fun but on the more expensive side:

Dedelus is very different to anything else I have, but that’s quite typical of Amazing Noises & Apesoft products:

Dahlia Delay:

and Lofionic Duplicat

are both great, fun options for older devices too. I know I’m missing a load though!

New one out today looks interesting

Another day another app purchase! As a huge advocate and fan of Bleass Filter, I’m a natural candidate for filter apps and this already one is one of the best I’ve found:

Anyone tried Drambo for CV outputs to eurorack? Also feel free to share patches or music with it. I can’t decide if I need it or not.
