I couldn’t believe it is auv3! I was able to load up 6 instances on my iPad air2.

putting in a shout here for NFM by Nikolozi, don’t think i’ve seen anyone mention it yet. I found it while looking for an FM synth i could modulate inside AUM and i love it. I’m not an FM expert so don’t know how it ‘rates’, i just wanted to experiment with that Autechre style extreme fm movement
excellent modulation/feedback grid which i find super easy to use - combined with midiLFOs (Arthur Kerns) and Fugue Machine it’s a blast!

The phrase “Autechre style extreme FM movement” got me on full alert! I shall investigate :slightly_smiling_face:

@petesasqwax well here’s a random mess of that kind of thing when you connect up 16 lfos to NFM

didn’t really do this with any consideration, just jumped through assigning random rates/shapes to the algo network and some envelopes, then adjusted coarse tuning by hand as it went on… set up as the screenshot

and here’s a longer slower more chimey one with same setup

Thanks for the heads-up on NFM, I’ve been on the lookout for a while for something just like that!

Does anybody have suggestions for iOS MIDI sequencers that support program changes (and/or bank changes), and can receive MIDI clock? I’m looking to switch my composition process over to Octatrack and Analog Rytm from Korg Gadget, and I need a piano roll to complement Octatrack’s sequencer that I could launch from the Octa. Gadget would be ideal for me, but I only got it to obey MIDI clock and start messages, program changes unfortunately don’t switch patterns.

Oh cool NFM does look nice! I’ve been using Phasemaker and really like it, but the UI feels like it gets in the way sometimes. Too many different views and a curious amount of empty space. The NFM UI looks like it would be a bit more efficient.

Modstep does pretty much everything you can imagine a MIDI sequencer doing. Have a look.

This is such an incredible sounding creation! Thank you!

thank you for the kind words!!
you’ve encouraged me to publically publish all the sketches i’ve been doing over these last weeks at home  (something i rarely do these days)… as i’ve had loads of shows/projects cancelled the prospect of selling a bunch of kit is hovering over me, so I’ve been really exploring how much I can get out of iOS, and this thread has been a great idea resource.
here’s the playlist - edits of hazey and unformed improvisations -

Just a heads up regarding this. I’m at least using Elektron Model:Cycles and my AirPods Pro at the same time.

  • Model:Cycles connected to my iPad Pro via USB through a dongle.
  • Main L (over USB) coming to a channel in AUM
  • Main R (over USB) coming to another channel in AUM
  • Both bus’d to a channel in AUM, then output to A2DP Bluetooth (my AirPods Pro)

So Input and output don’t have to be the same interface, at least if the output is bluetooth. Ping @jasonw22

Yes. Its pretty amazing. Sadly, i had some hiccups using it in a live show with an eurorack system.
Here´s me trying to figuring it out why the hell that bassdrum is out of time

I thought I tried this and failed. I’ll try again, thanks for the ping!

I have found that if you make the output connection last, it will change it to that. Like if I have an audio interface or another USB device (like OP-Z) plugged into the iPad, AUM will default to the device for output when you select it as the input. If you then make the headphone connection (wired via headphone jack or wireless) it will set it as the output device in AUM.

Ah yes, this seems to be the case.

Thank you so much for this - I massively appreciate it. It’s so easy for me to get focused on specific apps and overlook so many others - and also to use apps in a particular way without thinking of broader contexts in which they might be used. There are a bunch of things on the list that I have but haven’t used enough and certainly haven’t coaxed anything like these sounds of them!

Hi guys, I was trying to record Audio out from my iPad into my Daw but I was getting crackling noises here and there. I am using a splitting cable from the iPad Jack (a mini jack stereo to 2 big jack going into my audio interface).

What is wrong? I already used my iPad a few times with my audio interface to record directly into my DAW and had no issues. What could be wrong now?

You can get crackles from a bad cord, or from an overloaded cpu on your iPad.

This is beautiful, great work!

So I can plug iPad audio from the jack directly into my audio interface and the issue is due to the cable I see
