Surprised Mazetools Soniface hasn’t been mentioned in here yet. The interface takes a bit of getting used to but it’s really powerful and fun to play with.

I have the newest 11” iPad Pro with Apple Pencil 2 and usb C, and it is amazing. I’ve had the 10.5 as well, and the only thing I miss is headphones, but not enough to want to not have usb C, charging over usb bidirectional, Apple Pencil 2, bright awesomeness, and a million other perks.

Lately I’m enjoying my iPad more than my MBP as the center of my rig. Aum is just right, and gets me into playing music much faster than any DAW I’ve ever used.

Tonight I was feeling annoyed with the crappy signal to noise ratio from my Korg Wavedrum. It contains an array of contact mics, which can make it a very expressive instrument, but it also means some patches emit constant loud static. So, I paid the $15 for Brusfri, an iOS noise reducer, and was very happy with the instant results. Solved a problem that had been annoying me for years.

A facebook memory popped up from 2016 today with some of the pre-iOS rig I mentioned in an earlier post and I can’t stop laughing at how ridiculous it is. I give you tour practice 2016 (Bass Head + 4x10, Additional Guitar Head + 2x12 not pictured ):

This is amazing - at least you had no need to do any weights whilst lugging all that lot with you!

Ha, no definitely not, around 6 months total over 2 years we lugged all that around. Just the 3 of us and our sound engineer  idiots

Because I’ve been using one loads when mixing things on my desktop, I began to wonder if there was some kind of Neve 1073 emulation for iOS. I’ve searched through all the ones I can think of (and used a variety of search terms in the app store that I imagined might get me there) but no joy. Does one exist?

The 6144 equalizer is supposedly a neve emulation, although I’ve never tried. There’s another channel strip emulator from a different developer coming out soon, but that emulates something different. (I was thinking of ChannelStrip which @fever606 noted just got released, I had been using a beta and requested not to discuss it!)

(I’ve been using reamp & GotoEQ from klevgrand and like it a lot, but that provides a different effect perhaps).

Audio Damage just released a channel strip AU but it’s of their own design (ie not a Neve emulation). I haven’t had a chance to listen to the demos on anything more sophisticated than earbuds yet, though…

Thanks @mutedial & @fever606 - I’m a big fan of both Audio Damage & Klevgrand so shall investigate further!

Usually I don’t use my iPad for music, I love the hw’s complications and limits : )
Anyway, I bought some app for the story and sound of the instruments that emulate, and sometime, I sample a sound to play on my op-1 or nord electro.

Re-upped with two additions from the app backlog. The bapplog.

iVCS3 is incredible. I’m intended upon building a bespoke controller for my old iPad 3 purely to maximise the potential of iVCS. Such a staggering piece of work capable of sounds I’ve yet to discover anywhere else - much like the original unit, really.

I’m looking forward to getting stuck into Autony. I’ve been devoting all my music time to mixing down the archives of unreleased or unfinished Ableton tracks. My iPad sits next to me in temporary stasis…

Regarding AUM. Has anyone has an issue with latency and external soundcards?

Im using it with an Expert Sleepers ES8, however im getting pretty bad latency. I was investigating using AUM with some audio damage plugins and a midi controller as my eurorack mixer but dont think I can deal with the delay

Im feeling it was around 200ms, maybe more

I’m using AUM on the latest iPad Pro with my RME Babyface Pro, in class compliant mode which is slower than the super fast driver mode but I still haven’t had any noticeable trouble with latency.

exactly

Using it with Zoom U24 I’m not experiencing any notably latency issues as yet
