Hi!
I want to send lfo and slow envelopes from aum (via es8) to an addac VC 112 looper hosted in a small eurorack case. What are the best options? Any link / reference please?

miRack would definitely work for both. mLFO is great for all your LFO needs

Think I’ve managed to replace AUM and TouchOSC entirely with Loopy Pro for live performance now. Such an amazingly adaptable app, especially coupled with a MOTU Ultralite mk5 and the Faderfox MX12.

Likewise. It’s an incredible tool. This weekend I had my first opportunity (since the pandemic began) to perform with a Loopy-centric live rig instead of AUM. In general, I still slightly prefer the graphic/user interface of AUM, but in terms of sheer flexibility and customization, it’s hard to beat loopy. It was wonderful.

I have 1 page to mix inputs and control effects within loopy pro, and another page setup to control my Ableton Live session. I route all my laptop audio into my iPad for processing and re-sampling using an iConnectivity Audio 4c interface. Lots of fun!

(Those local to DC/MD/VA will recognize this as the backyard of Rhizome)

A happy discovery: The MOTU Ultralite mk5 has a virtual USB bus that’ll allow you to feed anything playing on your iPad (Spotify, YouTube, etc.) into whatever audio app you wish! I’d been previously using a physical hardware loopback to accomplish this, but this is much more elegant and zero latency. Been looping and dubbing out NTS radio as I work on more remedial tasks today.

I’ve been thinking about possibly upgrading my Ultralite mk3, and this is like pouring gasoline on the GAS!

Ooo, this new audio interface looks like a promising contender for IOS audio interfaces, especially for folks who have a use for a low latency audio connection between a computer and a mobile device and don’t need the 4 in/outs of the connectivity 4c. CONNECT 6 | LEWITT

Interesting. Somewhat odd shape

I was also thinking the shape is odd! I like the DSP and software UI though.

I like that the iConnectivity (and my Motu ultra lite mk5) is a flat surface to put the iPad on. The Apple iPad case I have locks onto it magnetically when folded back in use, too…I doubt iConnectivity planned it that way, but it’s a nice unexpected benefit of the flat top.

Just this morning I was psyched to set my brand new norns on top of my MOTU M4. It’s a perfect fit!

I’m sure it will also fit nicely on top of my Ultralite mk3😎

Unfiltered Audio for iOS in the works, with Bass Mint in beta. (They started with Bass Mint because the UI felt the easiest to adapt for touch.) So stoked! (Ok it doesn’t look like the UA plugins with the modulation patcher are going to be ported anytime soon. But I’m still excited.)

IConnect 4c users: anyone get norns midi AND audio to go across the usb buss? I would love to plug my norns in with a single usb cable to the 4c and be able to send/receive audio and midi across (which works for iOS) but… well I thought I’d ask if anyone else had done so already first. It would be amazing and save me audio I/O to boot.

What type of cover are you using for your ipad?

Also do you know if the Iconnectivity audio 4c can send cv/trigger via the audio out?

I use the standard Smart Folio from Apple - a little expensive as with all Apple branded stuff, but it’s clean and simple. When it’s folded back it has a magnetic attachment to metal surfaces like the top of the 4c. Buy iPad Pro 11-inch Smart Folio - Apple

I’m not sure about the CV capability, but I don’t believe it can. I don’t see any mention of DC Coupling in the manual at first glance.

Which advantages does this interface have over a Focusrite interface?

Pretty different, including things like onboard dsp. In my post above I mention the fact that it can route audio between an iOS device and a computer, which is useful for hybrid setups. Ymmv. FWIW I use a focusrite myself, but I currently only use my iPad as a self contained rig — mostly as a fancy pedalboard, sometimes for sampling and such.

Ah yeah big difference I overlooked

I absolutely love that this is happening, plus Bass Mint fills a huge gap in my toolkit. Ever since I got it I’ve not made a single track without utilising it and often have it in several channels doing different things. It’s absurdly powerful.

Hello everybody… forgive me and I hope this isn’t derailing, but I’m fairly ignorant when it comes to MIDI and the language around it. I thought this might be a very quick and simple question for the pros here and since my research has left me a bit more confused than not, here goes:

Could I use Loopy Pro as a MIDI sequencer to drive a hardware module that only has 5-pin din MIDI in and out? Wouldn’t even necessarily need to record back into Loopy, but would be great to have something fairly small to sequence chords and patterns.

If the answer is yes, I’ll do the research to figure out how, but if it’s a no then I’ll research elsewhere. I just get confused by terms like host and whatnot still.

This is definitely possible. You need a MIDI interface for your iPad or iPhone though to connect to Midi DIN. I use iRig Pro IO for this, which I bought second hand for around 30 USD/EUR. There are many others available. Just make sure, the interface has the right cable for your device, i.e. USB C or Lightning.
