darksines
Dark Sines is an experimental electronic music, art, and literature project designed to heal psychic trauma. You can find my debut album at darksinesmusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-cenote-expedition
I release on Waxing Crescent Records (UK) semi-annually and have an album coming out on Asheville, NC-based Ceremony of Seasons label in Falll '23
I self-release self-mastered singles and albums occasionally at my Bandcamp as well.
I am a former member of Moog Music Inc and have considerable soldering and synth assembly experience.
Gear
I use Ableton Live and lots of plug-ins for all of my composing, mixing, and generally have friends master my work. I use a number of max devices.
I connect my 9u eurorack system to Ableton via the expert sleepers ES-8, which is primarily composed of Moog and MakeNoise modules, as well as a Matriarch- My eurorack keyboard if you will.
I have a RPi4B Fates Norns with a launchpad mini mk3 grid for use with my eurorack system. Both Fates and ES-8 connect the analog and digital realms which are equally instrumental to my sound.
I also have a guitar, banjo, and e flat alto sax for sampling and composing.
Live
It’s NonClassical Sci-fi Drone Music that accompanies solar punk essay handouts and organic/space-faring live projections. I use Imaginando’s Visual Synthesizer to create generative video patches for my live projections. My live performances include songs from my albums, in addition to eurorack patches and manipulated field recordings (time-stretching/pitch shifting/granular sampling).
About Me
Taylor is a nonbinary queer plant loving recovering addict, huge trek nerd, anarchist with as much love and fascination of life and the planet Earth as I have rage at the destruction of it by people that exploit and destroy life for personal gain. Music and community play an integral role in my day to day healing. I try to focus on the present moment as opposed to the big picture these days and try to make life a little better for someone else each day. One Day At A Time.
